NOVEMBER 2016 / VOL. 3, NO. 11 DON’T LET YOUR FEAR HOLD YOU BACK SUNSPOT NEWSLETTER Let’s face it. Many of you aren’t growing your business because of fear. This isn’t surprising, because rejection is one of the greatest fears we have. We create anxieties in our mind about what might happen when we approach someone, imagining the worst possible outcomes. But this mindset defeats us before we’ve even approached anyone. We need to face our fears and overcome them to succeed. Separate the approach from sponsoring. Every approach doesn’t have to result in a sign-up. This unrealistic expectation will only set you up for disappointment. Instead of focusing on the outcome, focus on the approach. Sponsorship is a byproduct of the approach. The more people you approach, the more comfortable and confident you’ll become, and the more success you’ll have. Team up with your uplines and downlines, and go somewhere as a group to share Sunrider. We’ve seen this work at product fairs, malls, and events. This group approach makes the activity fun and more relaxed. If people see that you’re having fun doing the Sunrider business, they’ll be more inclined to want to be a part of it. Business Advice With Reuben Chen, MD Be driven by your dream. Focus on your “WHY.” Let your passion drive you. When you focus on your reward, you realize that rejection is a small price to pay. Rejection doesn’t change your purpose or where you’re going. It’s simply a bump in the road on your journey toward achieving your ultimate dream. Simply share the opportunity. Again, don’t worry about the outcome, simply share the Sunrider opportunity. As my father, Dr. Chen says, “Anyone within three feet of you can be approached.” Get out there and interact with people. It’s a numbers game after all, so get the odds in your favor and approach people daily. Keep it simple. You don’t have to start with detailed info and full conversations. Anything that pushes your comfort zone and gets you in front of new people is progress. Sunrider provides you with sharable, impactful marketing materials. Practice using them along with the 8 Crucial Training Principles. The people who are getting results are those who are taking action. We talk about taking “MASSIVE action,” but the truth is any action is significant. Your approach will never be perfect, so don’t stress about it. Win or lose, always look at approaching people in a positive light, as a learning experience that paves the way for smoother approaches. If you’re going to build something, it’s time to soar over those mental hurdles. Reuben Chen, MD Vice President of Business Development In network marketing, the biggest challenges aren’t the external ones, like having enough investment capital, a product inventory, or the latest technology. What did you do before Sunrider?I have a medical background as a radiologist, and I’m doing my own practice as an ultrasound specialist. I’ve also worked as a head of clinics in Pécs, Hungary, and I launched the local MR-CT diagnostic center.

Why did you join Sunrider?I joined Sunrider when an IBO, who is also a medical doctor, conducted a presentation for me. I began to recommend Sunrider® products to people who weren’t satisfied with other brands. I received tremendous help from my direct sponsor, who really helped me create a large consumer base. A turning point happened when I started to focus on building leaders instead of only selling products. This made me realize that the products really work and the big earning potential Sunrider offers. So from this point on, the money-earning potential became the top priority for me.

Since joining Sunrider, what changes have you experienced? As I started to gradually get to know Sunrider and its products, I began to understand how great each individual product is. When I changed my focus to develop people and focus on leadership, a major change in my attitude took place. I started to read personal development books, and realized that I had made many mistakes before. As I started to learn from this, my excitement increased, and so did the number of my team members. I continue to present a lot, and my team members present often too. This activity helps keep the excitement going.

What was winning the Leadership Challenge like?I set a target last December to win this contest, declaring it during one of my presentations. From then on, I managed my daily work more efficiently and a growing excitement spread to others on my team. Winning the contest was a fantastic feeling, and it’s made me value doing business efficiently even more. To maintain momentum and take my business even higher, I’m using part of the prize money for motivational purposes to benefit my team.

Your son joined Sunrider. What are you doing to help him succeed? My son is interested in video technology and has a lot of equipment. He became involved by recording my Sunrider presentations. After watching the presentations hundreds of times, he learned all the phrases used by my business partners and me. He began by committing to the products. As a university student, he became interested in making some extra money, and during the last convention he committed to his own goal of becoming a Business Leader. It’s important to mention that he receives the same information and mentorship as my other team members. He attends meetings regularly and is getting better and better at follow-ups.

What is your future goal?Fortunately, I set my long-term goals ten years ago, and perhaps even more luckily, these are not accomplished yet. So my only task is to fit my short-term goals into my long-term goals each month and each year. First, I'd like to establish and maintain a stable group and have it grow, so my downlines earn more and more. One target is for my Business Leaders to advance to Group Business Leader, and then we all travel to Machu Picchu together.
