2 November 2013 rider in the spotlight
Birthdate: April 22, 1998
First horse: Romans Will (deceased)
Favorite horse ridden besides her own: Dylan’s Desert Admiral
Dream horse to ride: Courageous Lord
! Emily’s extensive show career started in 2008, under the direction of Colleen Fitzpatrick, when she showed her first horse, Roman’s Will in Walk/Trot Pleasure. Roman’s Will got extremely ill, but not before Emily & “Will” pulled a reserve championship in a very large walk/trot pleasure class. This would, unfortunately, be their last show together due to this illness, even though he made a full recovery.
The next few years of Emily’s show career would be marked by multiple show horses, horse shows and wins.
CH Rastafarian – 2008CH Ridgefield Excessive – 2010-2011Harlem’s Lunar Eclipse – 2010-2012
I’m The Man – 2011-2012Harlem’s Showoff – 2012
Kalarama’s McDreamy – 2012-2013Foxgrapes Patent Pending – 2013
Twilight Maximillion – 2013
!
! 2013 was a light show year for Emily. She took McDreamy to Raleigh Spring Premier to show in 5-gaited show pleasure. Shortly after that show, it was decided McDreamy was not the right horse for Emily to show 5-gaited and the search began for a new 5-gaited horse for Emily. Unfortunately, 2013 was also a year of loss for Emily, as she lost her first horse, Will. Chase Farms was deeply saddened by this loss and Will is constantly missed. In March, the VanDuren’s purchased Fox Grapes Patent Pending “Monty” as a practice horse for Emily. Months were spent looking for the perfect horse for Emily, and after a few trips down to Kentucky, the search was over. Twilight Maximillion (Emmet) was purchased from West Wind Stables in July. This big, solid, showy gelding was exactly what they were looking for. Emily and Emmet made their debut at Octoberfest and wowed the crowd. Her first show with her new gelding resulted in a first place ribbon and a reserve championship in Junior Exhibitor 5-gaited class. This great team will be a force to reckon with next season.
Did you know:
• Emily has a brother and a sister.
• She is the middle child
• Emily goes to The Derryfield School
• Her favorite color is baby blue or lime green.
• She spent the summer in Thailand, working with Elephants!
• She wants to be a large animal Vet when she’s older
Her favorite memory is the first time she showed in a suit class with Roman’s Will, where she took a Reserve victory pass.
Her advice to new riders is nothing comes easy so work hard!

The BluesmasterThe Bluesmaster, more commonly known as Benny came to Chase Farms all the way from Flemington, New Jersey under the
direction of Kierson Farm in October of 2009. Soon after his arrival, the Dotti family purchased this spunky chestnut gelding for their daughter Allegra. Allergra started her show career on Benny in academy but soon entered the Walk / Trot pleasure division in 2010 & 2011. She received her first blue ribbon in this division at the Connecticut Summer Classic in W/T Pleasure 9-11 year olds! Once they mastered the canter, they moved up to the pleasure and pleasure equitation divisions. In 2013, Allergra & Benny found their division, country pleasure. Their first major win was UPHA Spring Premier in the Junior Exhibitor Country Pleasure. Benny makes a wonderful country pleasure horse and is always a judge’s favorite, constantly pinning in top ribbons. Benny is located in the main barn, two stalls
away from the entrance of the lounge. He loves treats and of course, playing with his jolly ball. His birthday is May 3rd and he is 9 years old!

Winter Tournaments
A Friendly Reminder from Your Instructors!
Proper riding attire is required during your lessons at Chase Farms. Kentucky jodhpurs and riding boots are preferred, although long pants and a boot with a heel are allowed. Having the proper riding attire can help a rider grow their skills. We ask that if your rider has been taking lessons continuously for more than three months that you look into purchasing your rider their own helmet, a pair of jodhpurs and riding boots. With the holidays coming up, it would make the perfect gift! If you have any questions, please ask your instructor!
There are two local tack shops where you can purchase your rider their own attire:
• The Stone Pony tack shop
110 State Route 101a, Amherst, NH 03031
• The Naked Horse
