    James Murray Olk, age 74, oGlasgow, M passed away November8th, 2013 at his home o a pulmonaryembolism. Funeral service will be held onFriday, November 15th at 11:00 a.m. atthe First Lutheran Church in Glasgow.

    Jim was born September 16, 1939in Detroit Michigan, the only childo Joseph and Clara Olk where hegraduated rom Cooley High Schoolin June 1958. He attended HighlandPark Junior College in Detroit, MI.In January 1959, he went to Basic AirPolice School at Lackland Air ForceBase in San Antonio, exas. He wasthen stationed in the Azores (Portugal),and was transerred to the Glasgow AirForce Base or three years.

    In 1962, he married AileneDokken in Glasgow, M and theymoved back to Detroit, MI where he

    joined the Detroit Police Departmentrom 1962 until his resignation in1967 due to an injury in the raceriots. He then went to work or theMichigan Consolidated Gas Companyas a budget analysis rom 1969 until

    1974, and graduated rom electroniccomputer programing while attendingnight classes. Jim and Ailene had twodaughters, Lisa and Lori.

    In 1974, Jim and Ailene movedthe amily back to Montana to arm

    with his ather-in-law, Otto Dokken,which he continued to do until hisdeath. Jim served on the Glasgow PoliceCommission and was also a jailer. Heserved on the Glasgow Schools Boardo rustees rom 1985 1991 andreceived the Marvin Heintz Awardor outstanding services to educationrom the Montana School BoardAssociation, during his term. Jimthen went to work or the GlasgowPublic Schools as a custodian until hisretirement. Jim thoroughly enjoyed playing

    gol and loved spending time with hisgrandson, Connor, on the arm. Healso enjoyed playing cards (bridge andwhist), bowling, traveling, fishing,and was an avid reader o StephenKing books. Jim was always lookingorward to avoiding the long Montanawinters and heading annually to LasVegas where he and Ailene would stay

    with their daughter, Lori until spring. He is survived by his wie o 51years, Ailene; his two daughters, Lisa(Paul) Koski o Glasgow and Lori oLas Vegas, NV; Five grandchildren:Connor, Dillon, Jordan Koski, andSamantha (Dustin) Beitz all oGlasgow and Kyler Koski o Columbia

    Falls, M; wo sister-in-laws: Flora(Farrell) Sutton, San Antonio, X; andCarol (Wendell) Wade, Lewistown,M; wo nieces: Celesta (Izo) erryand daughter, Dakota, Box Elder,M; and Suzanne (Eric) Smith anddaughter, Scarlett, Barhrain (PersianGul); one nephew: Jason Sutton,Morgantown, WV.

    Scotty Spikers place 4th at Divisional Going into the Northern B Divisional Volleyballournament in Malta as the District 2Bs top seed, Itwas the District 1B that would dominate the action withFairfield deeating Choteau 3-2 or the championshipand Shelby would place third.

    Te Scotties opened the tournament on Tursdaywith a 3-2 victory over Cut Bank but would then bebeaten by the Eagles 3-0. On Friday the Scotties werevictorious over Plentywood beore losing to Shelby or4th place. Te State B ournament gets underway in Bozeman

    this Tursday. First round pairings have Florence takingon Jefferson at 10:00, Huntley Project battling Choteauat noon, Fairfield and Red Lodge at 2:00 and Forsyth vs.Deer Lodge at 2:00.     When the going gets tough, the Scotties went to theirgo-to guy. Down 14-13, acing third and goal rom the

    three yard line, 34.1 ticks lef on the clock in the ourthquarter and no time outs remaining, Jonny Koessl tookthe hand-off rom quarterback Jason Tibault, cut to hislef and ound himsel plunging into the end zone: Scotties19, Fairfield 14! It was an ugly win, admitted Scotty Head CoachGreg Liebelt, but it was a win. Te Scotties jumped out to an early 7-0 lead onKoessls first score o the day, also rom three yards outwith Valentin Robert kicking the PA. But the Eagles would rebound later in the periodwhen their quarterback anner Meyer would run one inrom seven yards and Morgan Schenk was successul onthe point afer. Just when it was appearing the score may bedeadlocked going into halfime, Meyer hit Auston Batson

    or a 47-yard touchdown toss with Schenk kicking the extrapoint or a 14-7 Eagles lead going into the lockerroom. Te Scotties would answer back midway through thethird period when Tibault hit Keil Krumweide with anine-yard scoring strike but the kick ailed.

    Although the Scotties gave up a total o 314 yards inthe ball game, they never allowed the Eagles into the endzone in that second hal and would rally to win it in the
