It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved “Opa”, Ed Rasmussen. Ed was a long term and well respected Realtor on the North Shore beginning his career at Waddell and Associates in 1967. In 1972 he left Waddell as top salesman and formed Delco Realty. Our Father was a visionary, very trustworthy and family-oriented and soon expanded to build many residential homes, 5 multifamily developments as well as 1

commercial venture on Esplanade. He also was responsible for several land assembly sites for future developments, always in touch with planners and participating in District and City of NV council meetings. In 1988, Delco joined forces with Sutton West Coast where Ed befriended and

helped so many people along the way until his retirement in 1998. Ed also founded 3 successful pool halls, one of which was the popular Jazzy Q’s on Esplanade in NV. He was a talented musician

who could play any song by ear. He was the life of the party with his organ, accordion, harmonica and whistling talents.

In Ed’s later years he lived the good life with with his loving wife Sandra at his side. In the summer they resided at Hotel Lake in a picturesque log cabin he built surrounded by family and fun. They went on numerous

boating trips exploring the Desolation Sound, Gulf Islands all the way up to Bella Bella. When the rainy days came they would embark on epic RV trips all across Canada, the USA and all the way down

to the Baja Peninsula in Mexico where family would fly in to meet them. Their second home became “The Sands RV Resort “ in Palm Springs where they were part of a

loving circle of friends who reconvened each winter for golf and good times. Ed really knew how to live and made every day count. His family was always

the most important thing in his life and he was the most generous and loving Dad and husband anyone could ask for. He was our undisputed hero and

the foundation of our family. We will miss him every day but thank him for the wonderful legacy and memories he has left us all. Ed leaves

behind his wife Sandra, our Mom Shirley, brother Holger ( Ingrid), daughter Susan (Bruce), sons Mark (Chera) and Eric (Angie), Kent and grandchildren Ciara, Daniel, Nathan, Kaia, Max and Emma.

Please join us for a celebration of Ed’s wonderful life at his building at 150 Lonsdale Ave., (basement) on Friday Nov. 2nd at 6:00 pm.
