Wrap-up
Some practical tips from the team...
Ignore Atom as a syndication format
(Apple's documentation
notwithstanding) and concentrate on RSS...iTunes U
features still to come will make use of RSS more important. In the end, we support both formats but we only
use RSS.
Do not to underestimate the time it takes to upload the entire back catalogue of existing podcasts to the podcast server... it took me about two weeks of sitting up til 2 in the morning on average!
Have a clear plan to support the service into the future. Don't start if you don't intend to resource the
service on an ongoing basis. The work does not end after
launch. It increases with the profile of the service.
Thank you.
