THE MOST HOLY BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST
Fed by the Lord
Jesus' words "This is my body" and "This cup is the new covenant in my blood" were only part of his table blessing. Jesus twice said: "Do this in remembrance of me." (1 Corinthians 11:24, 25)
This is the good news of today's solemnity. Like the five thousand hungry souls, we are fed by our Lord. This is not food that satisfies for only a short time, until the next meal. It is food that lasts and changes us. It is food for sharing in much the same way as Melchizedek did when he brought bread and
wine to the returning Abraham.
As children of God's reign, we are blessed to be able to receive and share God's gift. And we do so in the way most appropriate to our state in life - as parents, children, husbands, wives, or religious.

ANTIOCH 70: TEENS EVANGELIZING TEENS
“My Antioch weekends (back in 1985-1987!), and the people I met there, had a profound effect on my life. Even though I live down the shore now, my teenage daughter attended Antioch at Notre Dame of Mt Carmel a few years ago, and had a wonderful weekend! I am so grateful for all the folks, past and present, who work tirelessly to give the gift of this weekend to so many teenagers.” — Past Antioch Participant
Antioch 70 took place the weekend of Pentecost and we were blessed to host approximately 60 teens from various high schools! We are so grateful for God, our pastor and pastoral staff, adult and youth volunteers, our teens and their families and members of our parish who generously offered their time, talent, monetary
donations, love and prayers, in support of our youth retreat. These gifts helped make the weekend the powerful faith journey it was, bringing some very special teens closer to Christ.
Please visit our website at www.ndcarmel.com (click on the Events/News tab), or visit our Facebook page (you do not have to have a facebook account to view our content) to browse through pictures shared from this wonderful youth experience!
MOMS & TOTS NOTE
Please note that our last Moms & Tots session for the school year will be held on Wednesday, June 15. We will resume our gatherings on Wednesday, September 14 at 9:30am in the Music Room. May the Lord continue to fill your homes with faith & music for your little ones, a beautiful reminder of God's joy and presence in your lives. Have a safe and "Son-filled" summer!

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL UPDATE

For the latest view of our parish calendar, please visit us at www.ndcarmel.com
Let us try a little harder to take the first step and to become involved. Jesus
washed the feet of his disciples. The Lord gets involved and he involves his own, as he kneels to wash their feet. He tells his disciples: “You will be blessed if you do
this” (Jn 13:17) … Evangelizers thus take on the “smell of the sheep” and the sheep
are willing to hear their voice. (24). Pope Francis, Evanegelii Gaudium

CATECHISTS IN OUR FAITH FORMATION PROGRAM
Thank you to all teachers: educating is an important mission, which draws young people to what is good, beautiful and true.
- Pope Francis
This past school year, we were blessed by over 100 Catechists who journeyed in faith with 822 children & teens through our Faith Formation/Religious Ed. program. These are loving and dedicated parishioners (some of them teens themselves), who
supported parents and caregivers in the continuing mission of nourishing the faith journey of their children and strengthening their relationship with Christ.
As we prepare for another year of growing in faith, we reach out to you, our parish family, to consider participating as catechists to our children and families. Are you passionate about your Catholic faith? Is God nudging you to help bring His message to our children? Please contact Marilyn at 973-538-1358, ext. 121.
BE IN HIS PRESENCE Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
Fridays, 7am-7pm in our St. Benedict’s Chapel
4 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT PRAYER #1. P B R ...
Christianity offers a genuine relationship with the living God. Christianity promises that you can and will encounter the one true and living God. You can have a thriving and growing relationship with him. You can restore the relationship you were meant to have with him, which was disrupted by sin. You can enjoy this relationship for the rest of eternity. Prayer is an essential means of forming that relationship, fostering it, and increasing it. Pray to be close to God, and pray to remain close to God. Pray as a foretaste of the face-to-face relationship you will enjoy with him forever. Pray that you and God will be the best and closest of friends.
