Notice of Public Information Centre Raw wastewater can be discharged to the environment when sewer systems are overwhelmed by storm water during heavy rainfall events. Under extreme conditions, sanitary sewage mixed with storm water can discharge directly into local waterways instead of going to a nearby wastewater treatment plant. The City of London is currently conducting a Pollution Prevention and Control Plan (PPCP) to identify the preferred method(s) for managing the impacts associated with raw wastewater discharges to the Thames River as a result of sewer system overflows during wet weather events. This PPCP follows Phases 1 and 2 of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) process. In order to provide further information on the preliminary results of the PPCP and proposed work to be completed in the next stage of the study, the City will be holding a Public Information Centre (PIC) as follows: Date: Wednesday, May 28, 2014 Time: Open House from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Location: City Hall – 2 nd floor, Committee Room #1 300 Dufferin Avenue London, ON Public and agency consultation is a key component of the Municipal Class EA process. All those with an interest in the project are encouraged to attend the PIC to provide input into the study. A Master Plan Update mailing list will be maintained.
