held on Sunday, 30 August 2020 at 2.00pm. Before the AGM will be Polling for the Election of

the 27th Management Committee (MC) from 9.00am to 12.00pm.

In view of COVID-19, Members are not allowed to attend the AGM in person. However, all

members are invited to view the AGM process via online Zoom platform. Please refer to all

relevant information appended to this Notice.

2.00 时举行。 在会员大会举行之前将进行第二十七届理事会选举，时间是在上午 9:00 时

至下午 12.00 时正。

鉴于 2019 新冠肺炎疫情，会员将不被允许亲身出席会员大会。 不过会员将受邀通过在线

Zoom 平台观看会员大会进程。 所有相关信息以收录在此通知的附录里。

Date: 19 August 2020 Dear Member, I am pleased to inform you that the nomination for Election of the 27th Management Committee (MC) of the Singapore Wushu Dragon and Lion Dance Federation had successfully completed on 12 August 2020. The details of the approved and confirmed Candidates are as follows:

A. Ordinary Members – 41 Candidates

a) Wushu Category – 20 Candidates

b) Dragon and Lion Dance Category – 21 Candidates

B. Associate Members – 13 Candidates

Ordinary and Associate Members who wish to cast their vote on Polling Day:

a) Date: 30 August 2020 (Sunday) b) Time: 9.00am to 12.00pm c) Venue: Singapore Wushu Dragon and Lion Dance Federation

shall complete the attached Proxy Form (duly filled and signed) and present it together with your NRIC to exchange for ONE original Voting Form from 9.00am to 12.00pm. Voters must be at least 21 years old. Polling will close on 30 August 2020 at 12.00pm Sharp. Immediately after the Polling closed at 12.00pm sharp, the Election Committee will conduct Counting of Votes from 12.00pm onwards. Candidates who wish to view the Counting process may request for a pass code (see Annex). We seek the understanding and cooperation of all Members that in view of COVID-19, we will implement the measures advised by the Multi-Ministry Taskforce to ensure that individuals put on a face mask and maintain safe distancing of at least one metre at all times and minimise physical contact.

Annual General Meeting The Annual General Meeting (AGM) will commence at 2.00pm on 30 August 2020 after Counting of Votes. The Agenda of the AGM is as follows:

鉴于 2019 新冠肺炎疫情，选举委员会将遵循政府跨部门工作小组的指导原则，采取措施确保

每个人都戴口罩，保持至少一米的安全距离，并减少身体接触。

Statement of Rectification

The List of Members with Suspended Membership has been updated as at 14 August 2020. With regard to the two Members - Hoon Hong Athletic Association (Singapore) and Nam Sieng Dragon & Lion Dance Activity Centre - we wish to clarify that their memberships have not been suspended. In consolidating membership data of our Federation for the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM), staff made a mistake and included Hoon Hong Athletic Association (Singapore) and Nam Sieng Dragon & Lion Dance Activity Centre in the List of Members with Suspended Membership. While both were investigated for breach of rules and regulations, the penalty (see Annex) did not include suspension of membership.

Apologies The Secretariat Office unreservedly apologises to Hoon Hong Athletic Association (Singapore) and Nam Sieng Dragon & Lion Dance Activity Centre for the inconveniences caused. We have since included both Hoon Hong Athletic Association (Singapore) and Nam Sieng Dragon & Lion Dance Activity Centre in the membership listing and they are allowed to take part in the 2020 Annual General Meeting. Hoon Hong Athletic Association (Singapore) The case involved unfriendly members of Hoon Hong’s troupe during a Lunar New Year Caiqing session in February 2019. The members were seen showing vulgar hand signs to and using vulgar words on members of another lion dance troupe; and not reciprocating when the latter paid respect to them. The Disciplinary Committee (DC) appointed by the Management Committee convened an inquiry session on 13 March 2019 with the complainant and defendant to hear their presentation and found Hoon Hong to be in breach of the 2019 Caiqing Rules and Regulations. After deliberating, the DC resolved that Hoon Hong be served a written warning and Hoon Hong shall ensure that its members behave well conducting Caiqing activities in future; pay attention to this incident to avoid repeat offences. The Management Committee approved the DC’s resolution and a letter dated 1 April 2020 was served to Hoon Hong conveying the decision; and will be recorded for future reference. Nam Sieng Dragon & Lion Dance Activity Centre At the 25th Ngee Ann City National Lion Dance Championship held in September 2019, Nam Sieng won the Fourth position in the South Lion Free-styled category and Best in Props but refused to form up for the Prize Presentation Ceremony (PPC) to receive the winners’ trophy. Its representative also stopped the proceedings of the PPC. These actions were not only in breach of the Rules and Regulations governing the 25th Ngee Ann City National Lion Dance Championship and athletes’ code of conduct but also set bad examples for the audiences. The Management Committee discussed the matter at its meeting on 24 September 2019 and found Nam Sieng to be in breach of the Rules and Regulations governing the Championship. It then resolved that Nam Sieng be banned from taking part in the National Lion Dance Championship for two years (2020 and 2022). A letter dated 26 September 2020 was served to Nam Sieng conveying the penalty.
