Maxime Caron, engineer for the Radio-Canada New Broadcast Technology Group, will present a brief overview of the Consumer Electronic Show 2011 (CES), which was held in Las Vegas, January 6th to 9th. The CES is the world largest consumer electronic show. More than 140,000 people visited the 2,700 exhibitors. Maxime will talk about the newest technologies and especially the ones related to the broadcast world, such as: SmartTV 3D Television 4 th generation mobile networks (HSPA+ and LTE) 3D mobile television Mobile and tablets novelties Green technology Industry general orientations 2D to 3D Conversion: Secondly, Mr. Carlos Vasquez of the Advanced Video Systems Group of the Communications Reserch Center of Canada (CRC), will present their new, real time, 2D to 3D content conversion technology. Mr. Vasquez will start by telling us about the various conversion methods used. He will then describe the method developed by the CRC, followed by a demonstration.
