Help for osteoporosis

Silicic acid plays an outstandingrole, both in the young and old,as a nutrient and structural agent

for our bones and cartilage. Thesilicon contained in the silicic acidaccelerates the incorporation of min-erals into the bones. In particular ithas a tractor function for calcium byadditionally supporting the synthesisof collagen thus providing furtheressential components to the bone, cartilage and connective tissue.

For this reason, silicic acid can, forexample, be considered as a support-ing measure in osteoporosis therapy. There are indications for the fact thatthe progress of osteoporosis dependsupon a lack of silicon, amongst otherthings.

Calcium and silicic acid - a strong team

Calcium and silicic acid have a preventive effect against osteoporosisand support healthy bones as we age. The silicon contained in thesilicic acid helps to store calcium in the bones and strengthen the

structure of the tissue. Calcium is the most important structural agentfor bones and teeth alongside phosphor. The skeleton of an adult humancontains about one kilogram of this mineral.

Prevent aluminum poisoning with silicic acid

The detoxicating effects of siliconcompounds with regard to light metalaluminum have been particularlywell researched. Silicic acid reducesthe availability of aluminum which isdetrimental to health in food or drink-ing water and, thus, lowers the risk ofpoisoning.

In the eighties and nineties of the 20thcentury the British research scientistJ.D. Birchall discovered and investigat-ed the special relationship betweenboth elements. The starting-point ofhis research was the initially unsolvedobservation that silicon deficiencyand aluminum poisoning can causesimilar disease symptoms in hu-man beings. Birchalldiscovered that this

phenomenon is based on the fact that,in the case of a silicon deficiency, noth-ing impedes the aluminum present infood or drinking water from enteringour bodies and causing symptoms ofpoisoning. A sufficient level of siliconprevents the unrestricted absorption ofaluminum and the organism re-mains healthy.

According to expert opinion, theconsequences resulting from thisdiscovery are more far-reaching thanthe layman would expect at firstglance. For example, in respect of theprevention of the Alzheimer’s disease, for some time now doctors andscientists have assumed that there is arelationship between Alzheimer’sdisease and an accumulation ofaluminum in the brain.

Silicon compounds reducethe availability of hazardousaluminum in drinking water.

Anumber of studies and sci-entific investigations leavelittle doubt about the effi-

ciency of silicon compounds fortreating a variety of digestive com-plaints. Here are three examples:

The results of a study carried outwith 12 persons aged from 30 to70 prove that the stomach and in-testines benefit from an increasedsupply of silicic acid (Dörling, E.;test evaluation of a silicic acidpreparation, 1979). 10 trial partic-ipants took colloidal silicic acidgel for 12 weeks, 2 participantstook a gel without silicic acid(placebo group). Afterwards theparticipants were asked whetherthe gel had been effective. 60 percent, and 73 per cent respectively,of the trial participants who hadtaken silicic acid stated that thecondition of their stomach or their

digestion had improved after usingthe preparation. Particular empha-sis was placed on the positiveeffects of the silicic acid productin respect of complaints such asheartburn, diarrhoea and stomachproblems resulting from nervous-ness.

Medical investigation of a silicicacid product, which was tested forits efficiency in the treatment ofintestinal illnesses, led to resultssimilar to those of Dörling’s study(Gegeckas, A., ‘Medical Investiga-tion’, final report on the efficiencyof a silicic acid preparation inthe treatment of gastro-intestinalillnesses, 1983). A number ofpersons suffering from gastritis, stomach ulcer (ulcus) and gastro-enteritis were investigated. Aftertaking the silicic acid product thesymptoms of the trial participants

How and why does colloidalsilicic acid support digestion?

At first glance silicic acid’scapacity for binding with toxicsubstances may appear sur-

prising, but upon closer examinationthis property is easy to understand. It is due to the fact that in gel formthe silicon compound is present infine distributed molecules, colloidaldissolved in water. The tiny silicicacid molecules which are “floating“in solvent have a large and veryabsorbent surface of approx. 300square meters per gram of silicon / gel,

an area which corresponds to thedimensions of a football pitch. Thissurface offers an enormous amount ofspace for absorbing a large quantityof harmful substances (and gases),’’binding“ them and finally excretingthem via the intestines, so that theycan no longer damage your organism. In order to ensure a detoxicatingeffect, it is important that the silicondioxide molecules in the product wetake are in colloidal form, that meansfine and equally distributed in water. If the molecules join to largecomplexes the resulting surface issmaller and therefore less toxicsubstances can be absorbed.

S. U., female, 41 years old

Clinical picture: S. U. often suffers from severe flatulence, partly caused by diet,

and irregular bowel movement with a tendency towards

constipation. Regulation of bacterial symbiosis, prescribed on

"suspicion”, did not bring about any noticeable improvement and

even linseed could not bring about a satisfactory improvement of

bowel tolerance.

Diagnosis: Flatulence with constipation.

Treatment: One tablespoon of silicic acid gel diluted with water twice daily

over a period of six weeks.

Course of disease: After only 14 days, there was a reduction in flatulence and bowel

movement was subsequently gradually normalized. At the

end of treatment, flatulence only occurs on rare occasions while

defecation is almost regular.

Outcome: Good therapeutic effect.

O. M., male, 60 years old

Clinical picture: O. M. has suffered for around ten years from frequently recurring

gastric ulcers and chronic hyperacidity.

Diagnosis: Hyperacidity and gastric ulcers.

Treatment: One tablespoon of silicic acid gel diluted with water twice daily

over a period of 2.5 months.

Course of disease: After only the first week, O. M. reports a clear improvement in

his symptoms and there are no symptoms after the end of

treatment. The complete healing of the ulcers is confirmed by

an X-ray examination.

Outcome: Very good therapeutic effect.

Case studies

P. K., male, 53 years old

Clinical picture: P. K. got a serious bowel

infection a few months ago.

Although this has been completely

cured following medical treatment,

diarrhoea and severe digestive

complaints still occur.

Diagnosis: Protracted gastrointestinal

inflammation.

Treatment: One tablespoon of silicic acid

gel diluted with water twice daily

over a period of five weeks.

Course of disease: At first, P. K.’s

condition deteriorated; we cannot

say with certainty whether this was a

case of "initial deterioration” due to

the stimulation of the body’s

defences. After 16 days, the patient

reported a clear improvement in his

digestive complaints and reduced

diarrhoea. This result cannot be

significantly improved by the end of

treatment.

Outcome: Satisfactory therapeutic effect.

Case studyWhat is the basis for the extremelywide range of effects which silicicacid has on our gastro-intestinalsystem? There are several reasons:

• Silicic acidinhibits in-flammatoryprocesses, asit is excel-lently suitedto absorbwater and, asa result, suc-tions off ordries out theinflammatorysecretions.

• Silicic acid provides naturaldisinfection.• Silicic acid has a strong bondingproperty for gases and toxic substances.• By strengthening our endogenousdefence system, silicic acid has anindirect positive influence on thegastro-intestinal tract. It, therefore, also reduces the risk of pathogensspreading.

TIP:It is advisable toalways have a supplyof silicon or silicicacid gel at home foruse should a gastro-intestinal disorderoccur. It is also anessential componentof every travel firstaid kit.

It is no surprise that silicic acidkeeps the human body healthy on anumber of levels as the water con-

tent in our connective tissue is de-pendent on the level of silicic acid inour bodies. Only adequate watercontent secures adequate supply ofnutrients to our cells and fosters theremoval of toxins.

Typical deficiency symptoms

What are the consequences if thebody does not absorb sufficientsilicic acid via nutrition?

♦ slackened, weakened connective tissue

♦ recurrence of broken bones

♦ growth disturbances

♦ pale skin

♦ skin impurities

♦ itchy skin

♦ dull, spliced hair

♦ loss of hair

♦ fragile nails

♦ problems with teeth and gums

♦ weakened tendons and liga-ments

♦ increased susceptibility to infections

♦ general feeling of weakness

♦ people with a lack of silicon have a tendency to feel chilly

For example, silicic acid has a positiveinfluence on a number of diseaseswhich frequently occur with increas-ing age; amongst them arteriosclerosisand high blood pressure.

Silicic acid is of utmost importance tothe structure of connective tissue; itimproves all symptoms associatedwith weakness of the connectivetissue - for example varicose veins.

Silicic acid keeps the human bodyhealthy in a number of ways. Thisis not that surprising as the avail-

able silicic acid level is a decisive fac-tor for the water content in our cellsand high water content is essential foran adequate supply of nutrients and, subsequently, for the functioning ofour cells and the elimination of toxicsubstances. As a result, silicic acidworks naturally to produce a positiveeffect on the gastro-intestinal system, the course of many illnesses, weaknessof connective tissue, as well as on thecondition of skin, hair and nails.

A reliable partner for combating all gastro-intestinal complaints

Silicic acid is a reliable partner forcombating a large number of gastro-intestinal disorders. Among its mostimportant applications silicic acidprovides effective treatment for excessstomach acidity, heartburn, stomachdisorder caused by nervousness, gastri-

tis and gastriculcers, pain inupper abdo-men, infectionand inflam-mation in thedigestive tract, flatulence, constipationand diarrhea. The siliconcompoundsare also muchmore effectivethan manyother house-hold remedieswhich, in spiteof their acclaimed health benefits, alltoo often prove disappointing.

Silicon compounds have had thera-peutic significance so far as part of themedicines used to bind gastric acidity(so-called antacids). But even in casesof Crohn’s disease and colitis ulcerosa- both chronically inflammatorydiseases of the digestive tract whichusually develop in stages - they havefrequently been used in practice withsuccess. Homeopathy has also dis-covered the potential of silicic acidand uses it to combat constipation, flatulence and hard stool.

TIP:TAKE A DAILY DOSE OF HEALTHFor the sake of yourhealth take one ta-blespoon of silicon /silica acid gel everyday. If you occasion-ally fast for a day, werecommend that youdrink plentifulamounts of herbal teaor a glass of mineralwater with one table-spoon of silicon / sili-ca acid gel everyhour.

Fingernails as an eye-catcher

Our hands and our fingernails areprominent visual features of our bod-ies. People are immediately drawn tobeautiful hands and nails and are re-pulsed when they see unsightly nails.Use of everyday household cleaningproducts from some bathing soaps tosoap liquids to more harsh solventssuch as tile and bathroom cleanerscan cause damage to our hands and

nails. We need to put some moistureand balance back to our skin while wetax them with these harsh productsthat contribute to dry, brittle nails.

Silicic acid is one of the most impor-tant elements contributing to growthof finger and toenails. On one hand, the silicic acid ensures a good supplyof nutrients to the nails on the otherhand it improves the transverse link-age of the keratin/protein modulesand gives the fingernails stability.

The positive influence of silicic acidtowards growth and strength of thenails does not become immediatelyvisible. You will start to see improve-ment after approximately five to sixmonths of daily usage. This is the pe-riod that nails need in order to renewcompletely.

Cellulite Solutions

Scientificinvesti-gations

prove that ifthe connectivetissue has toolittle silicicacid at its dis-posal, it losesits elasticityand thus be-comes unsta-

ble - one of the best preconditions forcellulite.

More than eighty percent of allwomen aged above 20 have cellulite.Cellulite recesses and wrinkles in theskin on the thighs, buttocks, hips and

stomach resulting from Yo-yo diets, inactivity, pregnancies and hormonalimbalances are nightmares for manywomen.

In women, the connective tissuestrands of the sub-cutis are merelyinterlocked in parallel. In men thereare additional transverse links.

Therefore men very rarely have theproblem with cellulite because thetensile corium is thicker comparedwith the sub-cutis and the connectivetissue strands of the sub-cutis aremore strongly connected with oneanother. Transverse links have a bettergrip on the fat - even if the connectivetissue loses its tension and strength inthe course of time. Therefore, thetissue remains tighter, but is also lesscapable of expanding.

Hair care right down to the roots

The healthier and more resistant ourhair is, the fewer problems it will havewith mechanical, chemical or otherenvironmental factors. The siliconcontained in the silicic acid is an es-sential component for promotion ofhealthy and resistant hair – A lack ofsilicon in our bodies would ultimate-ly lead to brittle, matt and fragile hair.

Shampoo alone, even if the shampoocontains silicic acid cannot guaranteean adequate supply of nutrients. Toavoid silicon deficiency it is recom-mended that silicic acid be taken inter-nally as well for a number of months.

Silicic acid ensures healthy connec-tive tissue and a good supply of nutri-ents for the hair from the ends tothe roots. In addition, the siliconcontained in the silicic acid can alsodirectly strengthen the structure of thehair by supporting the transverse link-age of the keratin/protein modulesand thus improving stability, structureand appearance.

TIP:Three-month courseof treatment againstcellulite: drink silicon/ silicic acid gel dilutedwith water every dayfor three months. Re-peat the applicationonce or twice a year.

Beauty through silicicacid

Ahealthy, firm connective tissueis the prerequisite for taut skin, strong hair and firm finger-

nails. Silicic acid is second to nonewhen it comes down to strengtheningthe connective tissue thanks to itsunique ability to bind water. Personalexperiences reported by people alongwith numerous scientific studiesdemonstrate that silicic acid actuallymakes the connective tissue of ourbodies healthier, more elastic andfirmer. To be more precise, if silicicacid is missing, the tissue loses its

elasticity and becomes unstable -wrinkles and cellulite becomeevident in such cases. The silicon contained in silicic acid ♦ is needed for the formation of thebasic substance of the connective tissue.♦ increases the moisture of the tissue andensures a regulated transport of nutrientsfrom the blood vessels to the skin's cells. It also aids in the removal of metabolicproducts and toxins from our system.♦ supports the formation of the con-nective tissue fibres collagen andelastine.

What silicic acid does to the skin

The skin - a mirror-imageof your well-being

Silicic acid is the guarantee ofyoung and beautiful skin. There-fore, it should be used internally

to compliment your external skin careand makeup applications. The siliconin silicic acid has a multitude of influ-ences on our skin:

♦ It helps fine lines and wrinkles tobecome smoother and to make theskin look younger.♦ It has an in-hibiting effect oninflammationsand soothes skinirritation and ail-ments such asburns, rashes andsunburn.

Many forms of administration

Silicon products for natural beautyare offered in numerous preparationsin forms of: ♦ balsam, tablets to chew or to dis-solve in water and powder and in avariety of products such as cleansingmilk, skin-peeling, toothpastes, hair-care agents, drops, and also as mouthor face wash.

Silicon compounds are mainly pro-vided in three forms of administra-tion:

♦ as silica (= a compound of siliconand oxygen on scaffolds of siliconalgae)♦ as vegetable preparations (e.g. as atea from horse-tail)♦ as a liquid, i.e. colloidal solution ofsilicon/silicic acid gel (= compoundof silicon, oxygen and water, alsocalled silica gel).

Common to all administrations is thenatural trace element, silicon. Theadministrations however, do havediffering effects. Silicon compoundsin particular tend to form giant mole-cule complexes and crystals, unfortu-nately our system has great difficulty

in absorbing these giant moleculecomplexes and the maximum bene-fits are lost in some administrations. For easier absorption and in orderto prevent these accumulations ofmolecules, using silica prepared incolloidal form is recommended.

By colloid (gel-like solution) prepara-tion, silicic acid is evenly and finelydistributed in water with the help of aspecific process. This method resultsin a very fine and homogeneous dis-tribution and accumulation of themolecules is thus reduced. The verysmall silicic acid molecules can then

What you should pay attentionto when buying productscontaining silicic acid!

When purchasing prod-ucts containing Silicicacid the question is not

so much the content of silicon butrather the amount of silicon thatcan be absorbed by the body. Therefore, make sure that thesilicic acid is available in avery finely distributed, liquid(colloidal) form that is easy forthe body to absorb. Purchasingthat form thus then pays its way inthe literal sense of the word.Silicic acid contained in colloidgel preparation can be ingestedinternally or applied externally.

How much silicic acid is needed

Silicon is vitalfor man. Therefore, thetrace elementmust be pro-vided to thebody regular-ly via food.Adults should

take 10 to 40 milligrams of siliconper day.

Poor or imbalanced nutrition can leadto a silicon deficiency. For example,

Who needs more?

Elderly people, pregnantladies, growing childrenand the chronically ill

need particularly large amountsof silicic acid.

Silica supply to the elderlypeople is particularly critical. As we age, the body's ability toabsorb and to utilize the traceelement silicon, drops at thesame time the body’s demandfor this mineral rises.

meat contains hardly any silicic acid. The rule of thumb is: anyone mainlyeating vegetarian and preferringwholemeal grain products, as opposedto industrially manufactured bleachedproduce, is on the safe side. However, due to the increasing lack of nutrientsin our soil, many wholemeal productsare also lacking usable silicic acid.

There is one feasible solution - takesilicic acid as a nutrition supplementon a regular basis.

Alongside oxygen, silicon isthe second most importantelement on our earth, its com-

pounds making up more than 75 percent of the weight of the earth's crustand the earth's mantle. This showsthe significance that nature has giventhis original substance. Without suffi-cient absorption of silicon in the formof silicic acid, people would lookvery old.

Strong, healthy connective tissue isthe prerequisite for taut skin, stronghair and firm fingernails. Silicic acidstrengthens the connective tissue, regulates the moisture reserve andsupports the formation of collagen. Itis the foundation for beautiful skin, hair and nails.

Fitness for the immune system

With a strong immune system, ourbody can fend off pathogens andthus protect us against illnesses.Silicic acid supports the immunesystem and increases well-being.

Small amount - great effect

For a long time, many doctors andnutrition scientists underestimatedthe potential of silicic acid. Thismay be the case because thesilicon contained in silicic acidonly occurs in tiny amounts in thehuman body. Our organism onlycontains 1.4 grams of silicon -which is why it is called a traceelement.

Scientific research

In 1972, the American scientistProf. Edith Muriel Carlisle discov-ered that silicon is vital for thehuman body. In the meantime, researchers from all over the worldhave proven the importance of thesubstance as an indispensablenutrient for the connective tissue, skin, hair, nails, teeth, bones andcartilage.

Silicic acid - the basis of health

and beauty

All living beings need the original substance silicon contained in

silicic acid. Humans need it for development, of bones, cartilage,

connective tissue, skin hair and nails and animals need it for

development of horns, hooves and feathers. Plants also make use

of this vital substance as a component part of the supportive tissue

and for resistance against diseases and pests.

One of the original desires of man is the wish for eternal youth. The

cosmetic industry tries to counteract the ageing process with a

wide range of external beauty care products claiming to give the

skin a more natural radiant and youthful appearance. These agents

are often temporary solutions that offer very short-lived effects.

Rarely is internal supplemental beauty care from within advocated.

The silicon contained in the silicic acid which feeds the connective

tissue, is necessary for cell production. It allows us to have stronger

hair, skin and nails and become beautiful from within.

The supply of Silicic acid within our bodies becomes a crucial

concern as we age. The skin, collagen, connective tissue of the

arteries, bones and cartilage become brittle as silicon depletes. To

alleviate those symptoms silicon should be continually restored

In addition, silicic acid strengthens the immune defence system

and supports the digestive system. This is why silica is so widely

recommended as a vital mineral and basis for a healthy appearance

and regeneration of cells by a number of experts.

Silicon or silicic acid -what is it?

Silicic acid with its importanttrace element Silicon takes onnumerous tasks in our bodies.

The most important, beyond doubt, isits role in the formation of connectivetissue and thus its importance for thestructure of skin, hair and nails. Inaddition, silicic acid is a nutrient andstructural agent for connective tissue, bones, cartilage and teeth.

Silicic acid is important for adequatewater binding in our cells. No othersubstance can bind 300 times its ownweight of water. A sufficient waterreserve guarantees that the cellsreceive enough nutrients, help preventand alleviate wrinkles, contributes tothe elasticity of the blood vessels, help in digestive processes and havean inhibiting effect on inflammations.
