Happy 4th Sunday of Advent! There are still a few days left to this season of joy and anticipation. Enjoy them! Slow down! Pray and relax with your family and friends and the Lord! As the yard signs all around town tell us — KEEP CHRIST IN CHRISTMAS. This slogan is not a judgment upon others. Instead, it is a reminder for us! Remember that all of this is because of CHRIST, the WORD made flesh! CONSECRATION TO THE HOLY FAMILY: Families today face many struggles, both through cul-tural pressure and personal struggles that accompany family life. Despite these struggles — and in large part as a result of them — families become what Pope Fran-cis has called a “factory of hope.” In our many expres-sions of family, we find great occasions for love, for-giveness, and joy. To assist families in living out this joy of Christ, we are inviting all families and individuals to make a special consecration to the Holy Family on the Sunday after Christmas— the feast of the Holy Family. The word consecration means “association with the sacred.” The decision to consecrate yourself and your family is an intentional decision to surrender more completely to God through the Holy Family. You accept the truth that salvation history was changed forever by a family and that through the domestic church (the family), you are called to live their example. Merry Christmas! On behalf of the entire parish of St. Isidore - Holy Family, I wish all of you and your loved ones a very blessed and Merry Christmas! May the Word that was born in a manger also be born in our hearts.
Christmas Masses: Our parish will hold five Masses this Christmas: two vigil Masses, a Midnight Mass, and two on Christmas day. Socially distant seating will be available in the church until we reach 25% capacity. Additional seating will be available in the church halls at both worship sites. Because of its size, St. Isidore Chapel is available by reservation only. St. Isidore will be live-streaming in the large hall for the 6 pm vigil Mass. This live-stream will also be available on the St. Isidore-Holy Family Facebook page. We’ve increased our internet speed 10x to make this possible! “Love is shown by little things, by attention to small daily signs which make us feel at home. Faith grows when it is lived and shaped by love. That is why our families, our homes, are true domestic churches. They are the right place for faith to become life, and life to grow in faith.” - Pope Francis (Philadelphia, 2015) Have a blessed week. Know of my continued daily prayers for you and your families. SWEATSHIRT DRIVE — THANK YOU
55 sweatshirts were sent to Holy Cross Children’s Ser-vices along with stocking hats and mittens donated by the ladies who make the mittens for the homeless. We have a great group of people from both our churches. You make us proud.
THANK YOU
An enormous THANK YOU to the parish of Holy Family for the donations to the Elsie Food Bank. Masks made by the Quilting Group were purchased by the parish and sent $1,013.19 to the food bank. Sue Peterson, Financial Office, was elated and said Holy Family always is a constant supporter. Thank you Holy Family for doing a great job in help-ing others!!
