● Reacts with chloride in 1:1 ratio and oxygen in 2:1 ratio

How are properties determined?
● # protons determines identity and essential properties
● # and arrangement of electrons determines chemical properties
● Reactions between atoms determine some physical properties (mostly for metals)
● Intermolecular forces determine some physical and chemical properties of compounds
