B) Software Issues
o Only restricted support of global file share functionality by TREX7.1 installation
TREX 7.0 offers the installation of a TREX central instance on aglobal file share. The global file share basically consists of theSAP system directory usr/sap/<sapsid>/sys and its subfolders. Onthis global file share you can store SAP profile files centrally,so that they can be accessed by other TREX dialog instances of adistributed landscape. You can use this functionality for settingup distributed TREX landscapes.
By the TREX 7.1 installation the global file share functionality iscurrently only supported in a restricted manner. During the TREX7.1 installation the customer can not specifiy the path to the

global file share (SAP system directory usr/sap/<sid>/sys). Theglobal file share will be installed only once on the host, whereTREX 7.1 will be installed initially and can not be placed on otherhosts. So there still is a global file share for the TREX 7.1installation, but it can not be placed independently from theinitial TREX 7.1 installation on other hosts of your distributedlandscape. TREX is developing the unrestricted global file sharefunctionality for TREX 7.1 for 2012. An interim solution forWindows is explained in SAP Note 1258694 TREX 7.1:Install TREX withGlobal File System (Windows).
