FAMILY : My family is made up by me, my mother Francesca, my father Roberto, my sister Rossella and my brother Michael. My brother is married and has 2 kids, a 2‐year‐ old girl and a 5 year‐old‐boy. Also my sister is older than me and she plays softball too. My brother and my mum were born in USA: in San Diego and New York, respectively. My mother grew up in Ann Arbour from where she left when she was 7 years old.

SCHOOL : I’m starting my 4th year at the high school where I study many scientific subjects, but my favorite classes are English and Art. In a couple of years I’ll finish school, but I still don’t know what I am going to study at university.

HOBBIES: My favorite hobby is going to the mountains because in winter I love skiing and in the other seasons I like trekking. I also love reading fantasy books like Harry Potter or the Lord of the Rings.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT SOFTBALL : I love everything about softball. I have been playing it since I was 6 years old. I started because my sister was already playing, and now I can’t stop playing.

MY MESSAGE TO MY HOST FAMILY : I’m looking forward to meet you. I would like to know how is your family and if you have pets, I love them. I hope to improve my English during this week. I’m sure I will enjoy my staying.

FAMILY : I live in Bollate with my parents, my dad Franco and my mum Miriam. I have one sister, Greta;

she is four years older than me.

SCHOOL : I’m going to start my last year of high school. Chemistry is the subject I am most interested in.

HOBBIES: Other than softball, I really enjoy to ride my bike in the country. I like to take walks in the woods

with my grandparents and to hung out with my friends. I like to watch movies, in particular fantasy movies,

love stories and Disney cartoons.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT SOFTBALL : When I play softball I like the smell of the grass when it has just been cut,

I like to see the field when it is nice and ready for the game and when the white lines are drawn. I like

softball because it’s a team sport and I can always count on my teammates.

MY MESSAGE TO MY HOST FAMILY : First of all, I want to thank you for hosting me. I am really looking

forward to spend some good time with you and have some fun. My English is not very good, but I am ready

to work on it, hopefully with your help. If you want I will teach you some Italian! I am sure this experience

P.s.: I am a very big fan of STARBUCKS!!!! In Italy we don’t have it so I hope that maybe one day we can

plan to make a trip there!!!

SCHOOL : I have just finished my third year at a Math and Science high school where I study two languages ( English and Spanish ).

HOBBIES: I love cooking, making photos and skiing

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT SOFTBALL : I adore playing in a team, the fact that I can always rely on my teammates and I love competition.

FAMILY : In my family we are four people: my mother Rosalba, my father Mauro, my sister Elisa and I. My parents are both 49, my sister is 14 and I’m 17. We have a Golden Retriever, Amber, and 3 cats, Ginger, Zoe and Gigia.

SCHOOL : I attend Regina Margherita high school. I chose this school because I like foreign languages, and I’d like to know a lot of languages. I study English, Spanish and German.

In Spanish I’m a very good, because I love it and it’s similar to Italian. In English I’m pretty good but not so much, I think I have to improve it. In German I’m not so good, because I have been studying it for one year only and it’s so difficult!

HOBBIES: In my free time I love going out with my friend, especially going to the cinema or to the disco, or simply walking with my dog, and to chill.

I love reading and every type of books, but I prefer adventure stories, they are my favourite. I love dancing too, especially Latin American (salsa, bachata, meringue) and hip hop.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT SOFTBALL : I like about softball the fact that you need to be a united group to win a match, you need to trust your teammates, every time. I also like the adrenaline you feel before a new action of a game, when you don’t know what will happen.

FAMILY : My family is quite small, it is made up of just three persons, my parents and I. We are close to one another, they do support me in everything I do.

SCHOOL : I study languages (English, German and Spanish) in the secondary school of my town. I chose this kind of school because in my life I'd love to travel and get to know different cultures.

HOBBIES: Obviously the main hobby is softball. We train a lot, so most of my time is given over to it. In the time left I hang out with my friends and my boyfriend. I also love reading books and watching films.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT SOFTBALL : I've been playing softball for 6 years, I love this sport because it is challenging and satisfying. I also get on very well with my team‐mates, they are kind of sisters to me.

SCHOOL : I have just graduated from High School. My specialization is Chemistry.

HOBBIES: In my free time I usually go out with my friends or with my boyfriend. Sometimes I go to the cinema o to the pub.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT SOFTBALL : I love it because I find it a complete sport. In order to play softball you don’t need only physical power but also a lot of focusing and mind skills ; you need to think and make decisions in a very short time , but above all it is a sport in which the real drive comes from the heart and the passion that each one of us puts into it.

SCHOOL : I attend a language high school I study English, Spanish and German as foreign languages. In September I am going to start my fifth year and at the end I will take my graduation.

HOBBIES: in my free time I love doing sport activities, for example riding a bike, swimming, going to the gym for a fitness class and during the winter I like skiing.

And for sure I love shopping!!

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT SOFTBALL : softball gives me adrenaline; every time I touch the diamond is always a beautiful feeling.

FAMILY : In my family there are 5 persons. My father, he was born in Genova, and my mother, she is Spanish and she met my father in London. I have a brother, Jordi, and a Sister, Maria they play baseball and softball too. We have been living in Avigliana since I was 1. Avigliana is a little town near Torino, Olympic City in 2006.

SCHOOL : In Italy it is a little bit different than in America. In September I’ll start the last year of my school and after I’ll go to College, I think I ‘ll study Architecture.

HOBBIES: I like staying with my friends and having parties with them very much. I like dancing and going to the disco. I really like going to the beach although it is not near where I live.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT SOFTBALL : I have lived for one year at the Italian Softball Academy, it was a very good experience. I love my team and I enjoy myself a lot with my teammates.
