From everyone here at WaterAid, thank you for your incredible efforts and continued generosity. Your support really does transform lives.
Since it was established by the UK water industry in 1981, WaterAid and our partners have helped more than 21 million people access safe water and 18 million people access improved toilets. With your continued support we believe everyone, everywhere can have clean water by 2030.
That’s enough to build 2,575 taps in Nepal
It costs just £37 to build a handpump in Nepal
Last year we reached more than 80,000 people in Nepal with clean water
More than 3 million are still living without safe, clean water
Before the tap was built at her school in Lamidamar, Nepal, pupils like Lasmi had to drink water from an open canal. She often missed school because of diarrhoea, especially during the summer months.
Children can now drink clean water throughout the day and messages written on tiles behind the taps remind them about the importance of handwashing.
