We are the first Tipi hire specialist to be based solely in the North East.

We specialise in providing a chic, unique and glamorous style of tipi tents for weddings and private parties to festivals and corporate events. Our distinctive tipi’s provide the ‘wow’ factor to ensure your event is memorable, for all the right reasons.

Welcome The Unique

StratusIt’s the unique flexibility of the Giant Hat that makes it an inspiring choice for all types and sizes of event. Solid wooden poles and a light tan-coloured canvas produce a natural ambience that’s really like nothing

else. Dress it up, or keep it simple, either way you can be sure to create an exciting alternative to a

“white box” marquee.

Pitched on its own with “sides down” it looks like a conventional tipi; with “sides up” it resembles a giant witch’s hat. And it’s this ability to raise the sides that also makes it possible to link the tipis to each other, creating a single larger space. All manner of configurations are possible, and there’s no limit to the number of tents that can be linked together. For total flexibility

— the Stratus, is our original and widely popular Nordic tipi for all kinds of activities, both summer and winter.

Meet the Tipi’s

Whether you’re having an intimate party for 50, a wedding for 150, or a corporate event of 500 or more, there’s a configuration of Giant Hats that will work perfectly.

The exclusive fixing system makes Stratus one of the strongest tent structures available, with additional poles to support the brim when you use the hat configuration. The canvas has triangular expansion panels to make it possible to raise the brim to an outstretched position.

Though outstanding and eye-catching on its own, it is most famous for its ability to link with other Stratus Nordic tipis, letting you create truly huge structures for every kind of outdoor business or leisure activity.

CirrusWhatever size you choose, Cirrus gives you a most appealing environment for your activity. It’s a setting that can only enhance your profile.

Cirrus is so manageable — it has a patented assembly system, with pre-mounted pole connectors. This means that two people can erect a Cirrus in less than an hour without any machines.

Cirrus 40Versatility is the Cirrus 40 keynote. There is space for 40 seated at tables. Pitched separately or linked to a Stratus, the Cirrus 40 can be used as a chill out area, a reception area, cloakroom or a catering tent.

It has the same construction as the Stratus but is smaller at 8.5 metres in diameter. Rather than having the possibility to raise the brim, the Cirrus 40 has a 4 metre wide opening that can be used to link it to several connected Stratus Nordic tipis or, when pitched separately, to provide a view.

Cirrus 72Spacious, simple and easy to erect, Cirrus 72 provides space for 72 seated at tables. It was our first giant Nordic tipi with the patented connectors to ensure strength and simplify erection. Cirrus 72 has become the first choice for so many activities all year round because of its stable structure, its reminder of our ancient roots, its manageability, its spaciousness and the opportunity to have an open fire. A full tourist busload can be served comfortably at tables inside a Cirrus 72.

It has two similar doors on opposite sides. The extra door fulfils the need of a reserve exit or a back door.

NimbusMuch more than a shelter— it’s a striking place for business or pleasure.

Nimbus is original, it’s fun and it’s distinctive. In other words, it’s everything you want to be when you are entertaining friends, holding a road show for business or exhibiting at a county fair or trade event. These are all typical applications for the innovative Nimbus — whether you leave it open all round or use the optional windbreak.

In the garden, it’s a cool gazebo for summer luncheon parties. On the road it’s a trade stand that stands out — and gives you so many creative marketing options. Whatever you want to do, Nimbus will be your shelter in a way that gives you pleasure and gets you noticed.

The strong wooden poles and stable fixing system make the Nimbus sturdy and attractive wherever you set it up.

The Unique

How you dress your tipi is, of course, influenced by your unique style and adding to it your personal taste.

InteriorsWhether it is a simple rustic feel, with a hint of vintage, or a Moroccan masterpiece, a funky glowing party theme, a summer chill out space or during the winter months transform them into a cozy winter wonderland.

Tables and SeatingRectangular tables with benches or chairs Our 2m x 0.7m Swedish tables are made of solid wood taken from sustainably managed forests. Seating 6 or 8, the tables can be arranged in many different ways. Rectangular tables can be coupled with matching benches or used with chairs.

Round tables with chairs are available. Where round tables are required, we suggest using 5’6” round tables seating 10 per table. These tables need a table cloth (not provided but we can supply) We also provide a wide selection of chairs. See our Extras brochure….

FlooringDandyDura® woven matting laid on a damp proof membrane is the most popular option for flooring. It is highly resistant, and suitable for stilettoes and high heels.

Interiors

Dance FloorsWe have a large selection of different Dance floors

available. Whether it is a wooden parquet or a black and white checkered floor. We also provide the ever

popular led twinkle effect dance floors in black, white or mixed. If you are after a more retro feel we can also provide an led colour changing dance floor,

Saturday night fever style, or to top that a moving video dancefloor projecting your favourite films ,

videos or photos of yourselves. Including amazing colourful graphics which move in sync to the music.

Open FireAn open fire transforms the feeling inside the

Tents or outside the tents, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere , not to mention a jaw

dropping focal point. Not only do they look great but you can toast marshmallows on them. Doesn’t

get better than that…..

Our fireplaces come in 2 sizes and are made from timber. We are also able to provide outdoor firepits

and heating . These fires are wood framed with a sheet metal firebox that sits on top so that the base

of the fire is at hip height.

The fireplace sits in the centre of the tent so that smoke can escape up through the smoke hole.

The Unique

Reindeer skins/ Sheepskins/Faux FurFor that extra bit of comfort and unique style we can add decadent reindeer or fake fur rugs. Multi coloured fleece blankets are also available. We work with your theme.

Relaxed furnishingsThe choice is endless. We offer a huge selection of eclectic furniture; from wicker stools to bean bags in cow hide or faux fur, worn leather or bright outdoor colours.

Low coffee tables and side tables with or without table lamps or sofas maybe covered with luxurious faux fur rugs or throws which make for a cozy, welcoming and relaxed chill out space.

Add one of our fireplaces in the center of the tent too, now that’s special.

We also provide LED colour changing cubes which can be set on one colour or slowly colour change. We have LED colour changing poseur tables for around the dancefloor area too.

LightingThe lighting possibilities are varied and many. We provide a range of options that we know work well in the tents. We use LED par cans or pin spots as uplighters controlled with a dimmer in our Giant Hat tents.

We can also produce light on individual tables, dance floors or other features also the illumination of the apex of each tent. We provide fairy lights for around the poles and outdoor lights and lanterns where required. We have large and small mirror balls available which can be lit to reflect onto the interior of the tent – very dramatic.

Interiors

Staging Staging is available in 8’x4’ sections to make up to the size required. It is 1’ high with black drapes around the

edges.

External HeaterWhilst an open fire will provide some local heat, we provide external diesel powered heaters that sit outside the tent and duct warm air in under the

bottom edge of the canvas. They are highly effective and will keep the tents

warm on the coldest of days.

BarWe can provide tradition style wooden

bars in 2m or Led colour changing bars. But for something different we

can also provide circular bars in mirror, led colour changing and black gloss.

Power and ToiletsWe can supply silent generators and full electrical caballing to ensure you

have the correct power source for your requirements with caterers and

bands, DJ’s, lighting, heating etc. We can also provide self contained luxury toilets, with a choice in price and style from a basic simple toilet block to an

uber retro luxury style. When it comes to your toilets, we feel they too can be

a talking point…..

We can advise on the best alternatives for you during our site visit.

The Unique

Coordination and Planning We are one of the leading events and wedding coordination companies in the area.

What sets us apart is that we offer a full or part coordination option. You have the option to take on one or more of our coordination team to assist you with the complete coordination for your big day or event.

We know organising a wedding or event in itself can be a stressful and a mind boggling experience as the choice available these days is endless. Therefore we offer a full coordination package where we work with your budget and help enhance your ideas with innovative and creative ways to dress and style your tipi the way you want it . Guiding you through the whole planning process from start to finish.

We direct you to highly recommended and professional suppliers of whom we work with on a regular basis, all of which provide the highest quality service.

We also offer a setup and clear down service. We make sure the area of land used for the tipi’s is left as we found it.

We can be there to hold your hand every step of the way.

We can also provide an event management package where a member of the Toast your Event management team is engaged to run your event on the day and night to project manage all your hard work prior to the big day.

We also offer a simple “Peace of Mind Package” which involves a member of staff being there during the day and night of the event as your back up, to ensure all runs smoothly. Light the fires put up or put down the sides of the tents etc…. This member of staff from The Unique Tent Company is there on hand in the background just in case any eventualities arise.

Whether its a Camper Van that serves cocktails, Flair barmen, a persian banquet, wood fire burning pizza vans, sundae carts, candy floss, sweetie bars, bands, DJ’s, ceildhi, fire eaters, stiltwalkers. ....the list just goes on and we are available to be on hand every step of the way to inspire and guide you.

Whether it’s Persian, Asian, Indian, Italian, Thai, Traditional Afternoon Tea or good old fashioned fish n chips with a twist or even personalised pie and mash. BBq’s, hog or meat feast roasts, picnic hampers, cheese boards or bulging bountiful buffets fit for a king. You desire it and we supply it.

Traditional TreatsBack buy popular demand traditional fayre is becoming more and more sort after. With a more relaxed approach to your big day, comes with it a more relaxed approach to your food too.

Mouthwatering freshly baked pies in a multitude of flavours are being designed to attract the most diserning of pallets. Whether its Steak & Ale , Steak & Stilton Durban Spiced Chicken (made from an original South African curry recipe) Chicken & Mushroom, Gammon & Egg (using Free Range Eggs), Northumbrian (Minced steak, tomato & spices).

All of which can be served individually with personalised initials or as a family size per table. What is proving a most popular of service is that of Family service where large turenes are served to a table and all guests help themselves to the choices available. A great way to interact between guests. These delicious pies can be served with a selection of 2 or 3 mashes , cheese, horseradish, mustard, cracked pepper, cream or daphinoise potatoes. All served with fresh steamed greens, buttered baby chantery carrots and lashings of gravy. Large wicker picnic baskets served to every table overflowing with home made delights of fresh meats, cheeses, salads,pies, pickles, breads etc...

All of our tents are decked out with luxury inflatable mattresses, Jute doormats for boots and shoes, block colour Indian rugs,low level hand painted bedside tables and beautiful tea light candle chandeliers providing heat and light. Additional features and services are tailored to each party or wedding depending on what you require. We can provide up to 80 ‘rooms’ for hire or even a ‘bed in a tent’ service - great for friends or guests who are happy to share a room.

Guests or events organisers can often choose from our Classic, Luxury or VIP packages. Our Classic package offers you the choice to bring along your own bedding (a cheaper option) or alternatively, you may order our bedding packs, which include 100% Egyptian cotton sheets, cosy 13.5 tog duvets, pillows and fluffy bath towels. The Luxury package includes bedding and bath towels as standard. The VIP package is set up in our spacious Emperor Tents and includes a double height, luxury inflatable mattress, loungers with bolster cushions, low-level tables, luxurious bedding with a sumptuous throw, stylish director’s chairs with a waist height table, two romantic tea light chandeliers and beautiful etched metal bedside tables. Also available is a Standard or Crew package which is a more basic offering suitable for some events.
