REGARDING OUR BROCHURES: Please read these terms and conditions carefully as they incorporate the basis upon which bookings are accepted by Flight Centre Limited (ABN 25 003 377 188) trading as Infinity Holidays (‘Infinity Holidays’, ‘we’ or ‘us’).

BROCHURE: This brochure was submitted for print on 11 February 2010. While Infinity Holidays has exercised reasonable care and skill to ensure that the contents of this brochure are correct, accurate and up-to-date at the time of printing. Please note that the contents of this brochure are based on information supplied to us by third-party suppliers and we do not have, and cannot be reasonably expected to have, personal knowledge about all of the facilities or services provided by each supplier; and facilities or services may change after the date of printing. Prior to making a booking, you should ask your travel consultant about any changes to the published information of which we may be aware. You should also make sure that if we are advised of changes that occur after booking, we can contact you.

PRICES: The prices in this brochure are valid for travel from 1 April 2010 to 31 March 2011. Please note that prices quoted here are subject to change. This may occur due to matters outside our control which increase the cost of the product or service. Such factors include (without limitation) adverse currency fluctuations, fuel surcharges, taxes and airfare increases. Please contact your travel consultant for up-to-date prices. Unless otherwise stated, prices are inclusive of taxes and charges that apply as at 10 January 2010 but they do not include any fees that may be imposed directly by third parties. Prices are in Australian dollars and are valid for travel departing Australia (unless otherwise stated).

AGENCY: Infinity Holidays puts together holiday packages but is not itself a transport, tour, event or accommodation provider: it acts only as an agent for those service providers. It is therefore important for you to obtain and read the service providers’ terms and conditions applicable to the products in your package. Also, make sure you are aware of any exclusions or limitations of liability imposed by the service providers, some of which may limit or exclude liability in respect to death, personal injury, delay and loss or damage to baggage. Infinity Holidays has no responsibility for the products or services provided by these service providers, nor does it make or give any warranty or representation regarding the standard of those products or services. All bookings are made subject to the terms and conditions, and limitations of liability imposed by those service providers. Your legal recourse is against the specific provider and not Infinity Holidays. If for any reason any travel service provider is unable to provide the services for which you have contracted, your remedy lies against the provider and not with Infinity Holidays.

LIABILITY: To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability of whatever nature, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, for the acts, omissions or default, whether negligent or otherwise, of third-party providers over whom we have no direct control, and for any loss or damage whatsoever (including but not limited to physical and psychological injury and loss or damage to property of whatever nature) that may arise in any way in connection to the offer or supply of products or services through Infinity Holidays or any third parties, or in connection with the supply of such products or services. Under circumstances where liability cannot be excluded, such liability is limited to the value of the purchased travel arrangements. We do not accept any liability in contract, tort or otherwise for any injury, damage, loss (including consequential loss), delay, additional expense or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by force majeure or any other event that is beyond our control, which is not preventable by reasonable diligence on our part.

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS: Travel documents include (without limitation) airline tickets, hotel vouchers, tour vouchers or any other document (whether in electronic form or otherwise) used to confirm an arrangement with a service provider. Travel documents may be subject to certain conditions and/or restrictions including (without limitation) being non-refundable, non-date-changeable and subject to cancellation and/or amendment fees. All travel documents are non-transferable. All airline tickets must be issued in the name of the passport/photo identity holder; some carriers will deny carriage if the name varies and the booking may be cancelled. It is your responsibility to collect all travel documents prior to travel.

TRAVEL INSURANCE: Travel insurance is strongly recommended by the Department of Foreign Affairs and

Trade for all overseas travel. Your travel consultant can provide information to you about travel insurance. For details of the services they provide, including a quote, please refer to their Financial Services Guide.

PASSPORTS & VISAS: It is your responsibility to ensure you have valid passports, visas and re-entry permits that meet the requirements of immigration and other government authorities. Any fines, penalties, payments or expenditures incurred as a result of such documents not meeting the requirements of those authorities will be your sole responsibility. All travellers must have a valid passport for international travel and many countries require at least six months validity from the date of entry. If you need information regarding visa and other travel document requirements for your trip, please ask your travel consultant.

TRAVEL ADVICE: Infinity Holidays makes no representations as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination. For travel advice, please contact the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade or visit their website at <www.smartraveller.gov.au>.

HEALTH: It is your responsibility to ensure you are aware of any health requirements for your travel destinations and to ensure that you carry all necessary vaccination documentation.

TAXES: Certain taxes are mandatory in various countries. There may also be an additional local tax charged at some airports. All taxes are subject to change without notice. All prices and charges in this brochure include Australian GST where applicable.

DEPOSITS & FINAL PAYMENTS: A non-refundable deposit of $165 per person for international bookings and $55 per person for domestic bookings is payable within seven days of confirmation of your reservation. You will be notified at the time of your reservation if any additional deposit requirements apply. All deposits are non-refundable. Full payment for your holiday package is required at least 30 days prior to departure, or by the sale end date or payment deadline specified in individual package conditions, whichever is earliest. If for any reason we do not receive the deposit or your balance by the due date, we reserve the right to treat your booking as cancelled and to apply the appropriate cancellation charges. A deposit holds services requested but does not guarantee prices. Bookings made within 30 days of departure will only be accepted if full payment is received by Infinity Holidays at the time of reservation. The price of your holiday may change at any time until the full payment is received and airline tickets are issued. Tickets will be issued within one business day of receiving full payment. If we have to change any part of your booking for reasons beyond our control, for example if an airline changes its schedules, if a hotelier overbooks hotel accommodation or if there are any changes in applicable taxes or charges, we will notify you. If any such changes result in your holiday costing more or otherwise being materially different from that originally booked, then you may cancel the holiday and we will refund any monies already paid less any charges levied by suppliers.

CANCELLATION FEES: Cancelled bookings will incur charges. These charges can be up to 100% of the cost of the booking, regardless of whether travel has commenced. Fees will also apply where a booking is changed or tickets are re-issued. Without limitation, the following cancellation fees will apply as a minimum and are subject to change – International: after full payment, the cancellation fee on packages will be the non-refundable deposit of $165 per person plus any supplier fees on the land portion of your booking and any airline cancellation fees on the air portion. Domestic: after full payment, the cancellation fee on packages will be the non-refundable deposit of $55 per person plus any supplier fees on the land portion of your booking. Domestic airfares are non-refundable.

AMENDMENTS: An amendment is a change to an existing booking with the same inclusions. Any supplier or airline amendment fees will be charged. A transfer to another package may be treated as a cancellation and operator cancellation fees may apply. If the new package is of greater value and no operator fees apply, there will be no amendment/reissue fee.

REFUNDS: To the extent permitted by law, no refund is available for cancellations after the holiday package has commenced or in respect of any tours, accommodation, meals or any other services not utilised. Requests for refunds received more than six months after the departure date for travel will not be accepted.

NOT INCLUDED IN PRICE OF HOLIDAY: All passengers are responsible for the cost of their own travel arrangements to and from their departure point (as set out in the brochure). The cost of anything not specifically noted as being included in the holiday package is at the passenger’s expense.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS: Product descriptions featured in this brochure are based on current international hotel guides and information provided by hotels and suppliers. Any facilities shown as included are subject to change at any time. The standard of accommodation and other services is based on various factors, which are generally accepted as indicative of a certain class. However, Infinity Holidays does not guarantee the standard, class or fitness for purpose of that accommodation or service.

MAPS & PHOTOGRAPHS: Maps are shown for general information and may not necessarily reflect actual routings, locations or services provided. Photographs show places in the geographic areas, but are not necessarily included in the holiday. Hotel room photographs are representative only, and the actual rooms occupied may vary in decor and inclusions from those shown. Many images are supplied courtesy of tourist bureaus, hotels and tour operators.

PRIVACY POLICY: Infinity Holidays is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of personal information. Our Privacy Policy is available for viewing at <www.flightcentre.com.au>, or ask your travel consultant for details.

BAGGAGE: Carriers publish baggage allowances applicable for carriage over their own services. Allowances include cabin baggage and checked baggage. We recommend you check your baggage allowance carefully as you may incur a charge for the carriage of baggage in excess of their free baggage allowance. Carriers also publish baggage safety notices, which detail items that cannot be carried or can only be carried in checked baggage. Again, we recommend you ask your chosen carrier about the applicable baggage safety requirements.

PRE-DEPARTURE CONTACT: Please ensure your travel consultant advises Infinity Holidays of a telephone number or address where you can be reached within 24 hours prior to your departure from Australia.

BOOKING ARRANGEMENTS: To make a booking, select the holiday of your choice and then contact your licensed or AFTA travel consultant who will request a reservation for you.

CREDIT CARD TRANSACTIONS: The prices shown are for payment by cash. A credit card surcharge will apply when paying by credit card.

These allowances tend to be based on a weight allowance or a piece system.

All reservations are subject to availability at the time of booking. Any verbal quote given is an estimate only and can only be confirmed when the reservation is confirmed and the deposit is received. When a booking is made, the person effecting the booking is deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions on behalf of all people named in the booking. The contract will be governed by and subject to these terms and conditions. No variations to these terms and conditions will be of any effect unless made in writing and with the authority of Infinity Holidays. All communications from us will be sent to your travel consultant. Your travel consultant will, on receipt of any holiday monies, hold such monies for each and every person named in the booking until that booking is confirmed, at which time those monies shall be promptly remitted by your travel consultant to Infinity Holidays.

MONIES NOT HELD ON TRUST: All monies paid by you to us will be the property of Infinity Holidays and will be a debt due and payable to the relevant supplier (contingent on availing) once the services to which the money relates have been availed or the relevant booking is cancelled (subject to cancellation fees). You agree and acknowledge that such monies will not be held by Infinity Holidays on trust for or on behalf of you.

Infinity Holidays northern territory 2010:11

Welcome to the ‘real’ outback, the untamed mystique of the northern territory – home to some of the nation’s most iconic natural wonders, spectacular wildlife and spiritual history.

Following the success of Baz Lurhmann’s sweeping epic, Australia, the territory has never been more firmly on the world map. a journey from the tropical top end to the desert landscapes of the red centre is sure to leave an everlasting impression upon all who travel here, as lush green rainforest and bustling towns give way to endless horizons of red earth and a strong sense of mystical wonder.

The Top Endthe top end of the northern territory surrounds darwin and stretches east to arnhem Land, south to Kakadu national Park and north to the tiwi islands. this is a truly spectacular region encompassing tropical wilderness, glorious coastline, abundant wildlife and authentic culture, and is the holiday that every australian and every visitor must experience – a fascinating journey.

DarwinLively, cosmopolitan, brave and creative – darwin is a beautiful tropical city where more than 50 different cultures share an easygoing lifestyle. it may be the city’s relaxed nature, its magnetic attractions, the monsoonal storms or the smell of the tropics.

With a warm year-round climate, do as much or as little as you like: explore its colourful history; enjoy the abundance of tropical flora and fauna in the many parks and reserves; dine alfresco and savour the city’s atmosphere; or, in the dry season, head to the mindil Beach sunset markets, perfect for mixing with the locals and gaining a true appreciation of this relaxed and multicultural city.

darwin is also a fabulous base from which to explore the top end’s natural attractions. choose between Kakadu, Litchfield and nitmiluk national parks, arnhem Land or the spectacular tiwi islands.

Kakadu National Parkstretching more than 200 kilometres south and 100 kilometres east to west, Kakadu national Park is one of australia’s most prized and protected treasures. a designated natural and cultural World Heritage area, Kakadu national Park’s rugged escarpments carve through lush wetlands, savannah woodland and monsoon forest.

one of the most concentrated areas of aboriginal rock art in the world, Kakadu national Park is also famed for its abundance of large saltwater crocodiles and is a wildlife-spotters delight; perfect for seeing kangaroos, dingoes, possums, goannas and other iconic native animals.

Further east, aboriginal-owned arnhem Land is also an unspoilt region of wild natural beauty, where time stands still. the history the aboriginal people share with this land is told through stories on rock canvasses. arnhem Land is only accessible by special permit from the traditional aboriginal owners.

Infinity Holidays northern territory 2010:11

KatherineKatherine is 300 kilometres south of darwin, the territory’s third-largest town and a unique place where the outback meets the tropics. spoilt with numerous natural, cultural and historic attractions it offers endless opportunities for outback adventure. don’t miss the spectacular nitmiluk national Park, home to the 13 criss-crossing valleys of the world-famous Katherine Gorge and river.

The Red CentreVisit central australia and experience the true nature of ‘the outback’. With endless stretches of red soil, the imposing desert-like terrain of the red centre region to the south, west and east of alice springs, more than lives up to its name. iconic and jaw-dropping uluru, the awe-inspiring Kings canyon and character-filled, historic alice springs combine to be called the ‘Heart of the outback’ – the landscape, the people, the history and the challenges, it has it all.

Alice Springsnestled between ancient ranges that glow red in the evening light, is alice springs, widely known as the ‘capital of the outback’, a town built on hard work, courage and character, where people hold boat regattas on a perennially dry river and race camels for fun! central to a diverse environment of stunning ranges and spectacular flora and fauna, alice springs is flanked by the east and West macdonnell ranges, and the town sits like an oasis in nature’s heart.

Kings CanyonWatarrka national Park stands 310 kilometres west of alice springs and is home to the dramatic Kings canyon. this yawning chasm of sandstone walls drops 270 metres into the desert and is one of the country’s most spectacular sights and popular walking areas. it’s also an important conservation area, home to more than 600 species of native plant and animal life, and the sheltered valley is lined with palm trees, ferns and cycads where the cool shade provides welcome relief from the scorching desert conditions.

UluruFor incredible iconic monoliths, the uluru-Kata tjuta national Park is in a class of its own. approaching by road or air, nothing will ever prepare you for your first view of uluru as it rises from the horizon. stand at its base and explore its mysteries, and you will understand why it’s not only treasured by local aboriginal people, but is also one of the great wonders of the world. standing 348 metres high, the rock is home to a diversity of wildlife and vegetation at its base.

Just 30 kilometres away stands the equally impressive Kata tjuta, the aboriginal name for the olgas meaning ‘many heads’. these massive rock domes date back 500 million years and are made up of 36 rounded domes, with the tallest, mount olga, standing at 546 metres. don’t miss it!

Top End

Infinity Holidays northern territory 2010:11

the tropical ‘top end’ of the northern territory is a land rich in culture, history and some of the most scenic and inspirational natural environments in the country. Vibrant capital city darwin is modern and culturally diverse. the region is perhaps best known for its vast landscapes and idyllic scenery, as illustrated by the stunning Kakadu, Litchfield and nitmiluk national parks, and the spirituality of arnhem Land, which celebrates many thousands of years of aboriginal culture. explore, discover and enjoy!

A modern Territory the northern territory’s recent history is an exciting blend of adventure, intensity, disappointment, disaster and achievement.

darwin, named after the evolutionist charles darwin, was founded as australia’s most

northerly harbour port in 1869, and is australia’s northernmost capital city. the city’s population rapidly expanded after the discovery of gold at nearby Pine creek in 1871. World War ii put darwin on the map as a major allied military base for troops fighting the Japanese in the Pacific, and today travellers can see evidence of darwin’s involvement at a variety of preserved sites in and around the city, including ammunition bunkers, airstrips and oil tunnels.

An ancient landintegral to the appeal of the top end is the fascinating history and present-day involvement of its aboriginal residents. infusing the young european settlement with 50,000 years of history and culture, the top end’s aboriginal people celebrate and share many secrets of their long-term survival.

today more than 80 indigenous language groups live in the northern territory and more than 50% of the land is aboriginal-owned and occupied. Kakadu national Park and arnhem Land offer the opportunity to learn about aboriginal art and culture. View the many examples of rock art, which depict the social and cultural history and progress of the many different aboriginal cultures, a tradition which stretches back thousands of years and helps maintain a strong and important connection with their ancestors.

Unspoilt natural beautythe top end’s national parks are without doubt among the world’s most unique and unforgettable, and offer endless opportunities for outdoor adventure and wildlife watching. experience the wonder of Litchfield national Park, with its crystal-

clear waterfall pools and swimming holes, and World Heritage-listed Kakadu national Park, a vast dreamland of lush wetlands, plunging gorges, and waterfalls, while arnhem Land offers wild coastline, savannah woodlands, lush wetlands and prolific wildlife. Head south to nitmiluk national Park, the home of the majestic Katherine Gorge, or take a 35 minute flight north from darwin to discover the spectacular attractions of the tiwi islands.

Time to shopshopaholics don’t have to look very far to satisfy their urges. in darwin, a trip to the mindil Beach sunset markets, which run from may to october, is a popular outdoor experience, uniting local arts and crafts with imported asian fare, and there is more shopping to be had at the year-round weekend markets of Parap, nightcliff and rapid creek. authentic aboriginal artefacts and paintings are among the most favoured target of territory tourism dollars, and you can pick up some fabulous pieces in the national parks and aboriginal galleries.

Dine & unwindWhen it’s time to unwind and reflect on the unique charms of the top end, the warm year-round weather of the territory make it a perfect location for relaxed alfresco dining – choose from any number of open-air restaurants, pavement cafes and dining terraces. darwin’s cuisine reflects its diverse population mix of more than 50 nationalities, resulting in wonderful experiments in fusion cooking with mouth-watering seafood, crocodile, camel and buffalo meat and unique territory fruits. For a real outback experience, dine at a cattle station homestead or savour a meal from a camp oven.

ˇ Heading hereYellow Water Billabong, Kakadu National Park

knowˇ Get in the know ...Join the locals at the darwin sailing club, or dsc, as it’s affectionately known. the club’s beautiful Fannie Bay location allows members and visitors to experience breathtaking sunsets and spectacular thunderstorms all year round.

the club’s bistro has a great selection of asian and australian dishes, and the friendly atmosphere ensures an enjoyable afternoon or evening overlooking the bay and socialising with the locals. the dsc welcomes members, their guests and travellers to darwin.

Kakadu National Park & Arnhem Land

Top 5 things to dothe largest national park in australia and home to an extensive and impressive collection of

aboriginal rock art, Kakadu national Park is a must-visit in the top end and the perfect destination for outdoor adventure. one of just a handful of dual-listed World Heritage sites (cited for both natural and cultural qualities), the park counts among our nation’s most-prized treasures. covering more than 19,000 square kilometres, the park is an enormous weathered plateau towering 400 metres above lowlands rich in waterfalls, wetlands, woodlands, sculptured gorges and caves, ripe for exploring. and, with more than 1000 varieties of plants and countless bird, fish and animal species, it is a nature-lover’s paradise.

Beyond Kakadu’s scenic beauty, there is a unique spiritual quality to the land, derived from the park’s ancient history. two billion years old, Kakadu national Park is thought to have been inhabited by the Bininj people for 50,000 years, and the area’s aboriginal heritage is richly expressed in ancient rock paintings throughout the park.

Further north-east is arnhem Land, an expanse of unspoilt terrain made up of a predominantly indigenous population, wild coastlines, deserted islands, rivers teeming with fish, lush rainforests, soaring escarpments and savannah woodland.

Katherine Top 5 things to dothe third-largest town in the northern territory, Katherine forms a bridge between the tropical

top end and the outback, and is the gateway to an exciting region of historic significance and outstanding natural beauty.

traditionally home of the Jawoyn and dagoman people; pioneers, led by John mcdouall stuart, first settled the town in 1862 as an important stopping point on the road to alice springs. today you can get a taste of that pioneering spirit at the impressive springvale Homestead, the oldest cattle station in the northern territory, or see the original Flying doctor’s biplane at the museum.

Less than 30 minutes drive away, the scenic nitmiluk national Park is home to the majestic Katherine Gorge, a series of 13 sandstone gorges carved out over the centuries by the river. a haven for nature lovers and adventure seekers, the park is characterised by rugged landscapes, cascading waterfalls and an abundance of flora and fauna.

south-east from Katherine, the cutta cutta caves are a series of tropical limestone caverns set amid lush, tropical rainforest and home to a colony of endangered ghost bats and orange horseshoe bats. a little further on, the small township of mataranka is famous for its thermal pools, a perfect spot to rejuvenate in its inviting waters and palm-fringed lagoon.

Red Centre

Infinity Holidays northern territory 2010:11

often described as the spiritual, cultural and physical heart of the country, the red centre is a vast outback region stretching around alice springs. the red earth of its landscape, the red dust of its roads and the red and golden hues of its mesmeric natural structures, leaves few visitors in doubt of the uniqueness of the australian outback.

Rich historic legacythroughout the centuries, central australian life has seen a rich cast of characters travel across its land, from aboriginal tribespeople and afghan cameleers, to pioneering women, flying doctors and our early explorers.

the history of the red centre began more than 50,000 years ago when the arrente aboriginal people made their home in the central australian desert in and around alice springs, moving from one reliable watering hole to another.

settlers first arrived in the area in the 1870s when a telegraph repeater station was built near a permanent watering hole on the todd river, and the spring was named alice after the wife of the former Postmaster General of south australia, sir charles todd. it wasn’t until alluvial gold was discovered in 1887 that any significant settlement occurred, and not for another 50 years that the town was officially named alice springs.

Iconic & inspirational Just as its history is unique, so too are the results of mother nature’s handiwork, which can be witnessed here like nowhere else on earth, in the skyscrapers made of rock, not steel; and the best show in town is the spectacle of a billion stars that blanket the desert sky.

the spectacular gorges and chasms of the east and West macdonnell ranges, and the sensational 300-metre-high sandstone walls of Kings canyon in Watarraka national Park, set the scene for world-renowned drives and a range of adventure activities such as bushwalking, swimming and camping.

uluru-Kata tjuta national Park lies 440 kilometres south-west of alice springs and is home to australia’s most impressive natural spectacle, and reason alone to visit the red centre. a sandstone monolith standing 348 metres high, the awesome bulk of uluru (ayers rock) rises from the horizon, and its textures and colours mesmerise in the changing light of the day.

Kata tjuta (the olgas) is equally impressive, a 500-million-year-old pile of rock domes divided by chasms and narrow valleys, with the largest dome, mount olga, standing 200 metres higher than uluru.

Aboriginal art & culturein central australia, one of the last parts of the country to be reached by european settlers, the legacy of aboriginal culture remains particularly strong. aboriginal art is one of the oldest cultural traditions in the world, and today alice springs is the aboriginal art capital of australia, with more indigenous art galleries per capita than anywhere else in the world. the art has been traditionally used to pass creation stories down through the generations, and the high standard of works currently being produced in and around alice is attracting more and more travellers and collectors.

Perhaps one of australia’s most renowned aboriginal artist, albert namatjira, drew inspiration for his watercolours from the vibrancy and grandeur of the West macdonnell ranges surrounding alice springs.

Authentic souvenirsHead to the aboriginal art and culture centre in alice springs, where you can purchase artwork direct from the aboriginal community of central australia, as well as didgeridoos and cds of indigenous music. the uluru-Kata tjuta national Park Visitors’ centre is also a great place to find some quality and locally produced artworks.

Dining & entertainmentalice springs is the golden heart of the red centre, famous for its rich red-rock landscapes and cobalt-blue sky, the perfect place to relax and unwind as the sun goes down. Bustling cafes line the todd street mall in the centre of town, and entertainment options abound, from live bands, to stage and dinner shows.

ˇ Heading hereKata Tjuta (The Olgas)

knowˇ Get in the know ...the red centre is home to some unique, wacky and wildly popular annual events.

the quirky Henley-on-todd regatta in alice springs sees the teams race bottomless boats through the sand of the dry todd riverbed in september.alice’s Beanie Festival in June is where local craftspeople are challenged to raise beanie making into a distinctive art form. the camel cup in alice springs in July, is a crazy day of camel racing and novelty events such as rickshaw races and camel polo.

there is little doubt that Kings canyon is one of the most beautiful sites in the whole of the centre. to do it justice, spend at least a day doing both the canyon and the creek walks.

6. Visit the macdonnell ranges

For striking scenery, stop at simpsons Gap in the West macdonnell ranges before continuing on to magical angkerle (standley chasm). the east macdonnells are rich in bird and animal life.

dine under a million stars at the award-winning sounds of silence restaurant. travel out to a private setting in the desert, sip on a glass of champagne with the sound of a lone didgeridoo filling the air, and watch the sun slowly set over Kata tjuta and uluru.

8. Be entertained at an alice festival

Join the locals at one of the hugely entertaining alice spring carnival events. From the riotous camel cup, the only-in-alice Henley-on-todd regatta (the world’s only regatta held on a dry riverbed), to the alice springs Beanie Festival.

uluru’s cultural centre is an introduction to the history and cultural importance of the area. interactive displays, video presentations and artwork present the park through the eyes of its traditional owners, the anangu people.

uluru-Kata tjuta national Park exceeds all expectations. even the most seasoned traveller cannot fail to be impressed as the world’s largest monolith and australia’s most recognisable icon rises from the desert, in a breathtaking, ever-changing vision of colour and texture.

towering 348 metres from the earth, uluru (formerly known as ayers rock) is best explored on foot, giving the opportunity to delve into the many caves and rock pools, and see examples of aboriginal rock art. to the west is Kata tjuta, or the olgas – a collection of 36 weathered rock domes estimated to be as old as 500 million years.

archaeological work suggests that aboriginal people have lived here for more than 20,000 years – giving a history that infuses it with an inescapable sense of purpose and wonder. the anangu traditional landowners lead walking tours in both areas, which are fascinating insights into the region’s ecosystem, bush foods and aboriginal dreamtime stories.

a range of accommodation, from budget to five star luxury is available in the township of Yulara, purpose-built to service travellers to the park. the Yulara Visitors’ centre provides information on local history, geology, flora, fauna and culture.

CREDIT CARD TRANSACTIONS: The prices shown are for payment by cash. A credit card surcharge will apply when paying by credit card.

These allowances tend to be based on a weight allowance or a piece system.
