We had another great Honor Bus day in Washington, DC! Thank you to our VFW Ladies Auxiliary for break-
fast, Applebee’s for our bagged lunches, and Mission BBQ for our yummy dinner! Special thanks to our amazing
students (current and alumni) and volunteers, and of course, Mr. Duane Swartz, for making it all possible! It was
an honor to spend the day learning from our veterans and being able to demonstrate our appreciation for their
service!

Mrs. Oliver, Technology Coach, and Mr. Carlisle, SBI Guidance Counselor, recently combined efforts
to teach Cyber Guidance Lessons to all 5th and 6th graders. The giant footprint represented the digi-
tal footprint we produce via our online interactions. Kids learned about positive digital citizenship,
online safety, and cyber bullying.
Mrs. Sodl’s AP Human Geography classes held Socratic Seminars in the high school library. Questions dis-
cussed included, but were not limited to:
How might food security play a role in political stability of a country?
What challenges do we face in being able to feed the world population?
What is “food nationalism” and how does it impact agricultural practices?

It was Teacher/Student Swap day recently at Conewago Elementary.
The students dressed up like teachers!
A HUGE Thank You to Whales, Snails & Pup-
py Dog Tails Child Care Center for holding a
food drive at their facility to benefit families
in the Northeastern School District. Many
families involved in the district Weekend
Backpack program will benefit from the food
donated through their efforts. Local Boy Scout
troop, Pack 248, also contributed items to the
food drive. We are very grateful for their kind-
ness during this holiday season.
This past weekend Northeastern Dramatics presented the Upperclassmen Play,
A-Haunting We Will Go
Everyone did a fantastic job and audience members were entertained and impressed!
Conewago Cubs know how to show this month's character trait: Responsibility!
Congratulations to our Bobcats of the month!!!
Mt. Wolf first graders were
grateful to have Philip
Woods teach this year’s
Junior Achievement les-
sons. Our students spent
the course of five lessons
discovering how family
members’ jobs and busi-
nesses contribute to the
well-being of family and the
community.
NHS alumni, Derek Kline and his wife Brittany (formerly Baughman- both of whom are NHS graduates)
delivered over $3000.00 worth of clothing, make-up, winter jackets, backpacks, undergarments, socks,
etc. to Rachel's Closet on Monday, 11/25/19. Derek serves as a treasurer for the Wago club and his em-
ployment company, Adesa, allows a day of service to charity each year. It is obvious that "giving back" is
extremely important to these
NESD alumni!!! We appreci-
ate their generosity very
much. Many many many
NMS students and families
in need will benefit greatly
from their generosity! Thank
you Wago Club, Adesa, and
Derek and Brittany!! During
this season of THANKSGIV-
ING, we certainly are thank-
ful for this extreme act of
generosity.
