Local historical interestsMerseyside Maritime MuseumThe Merseyside Maritime Museum is located in the heart of the Albert Dock; it’s the ideal location to explore and uncover the development of the world-famous port. There is plenty to see, including boats, paintings, ship models, shipwrecked objects, uniforms and more.

World Museum The World Museum has extensive collections covering archaeology, ethnology and the natural and physical sciences. Special attractions include the Natural History Centre and a planetarium. It is the oldest of the museums and galleries in Liverpool, opening in 1853.

Museum of Liverpool The Museum of Liverpool is the newest addition to the National Museums Liverpool group having opened in 2011 replacing the former Museum of Liverpool Life. The Museum tells the story of Liverpool, its people and reflects the city’s global significance.

Speke Hall - National TrustSpeke Hall is a rare Tudor timber-framed manor house in a most unusual setting on the banks of the River Mersey. Restored and brought back to life in the 19th century, it is a unique and beautiful mixture of Tudor simplicity and Victorian Arts and Crafts' aesthetics.

International Slavery MuseumThe International Slavery Museum is located within Liverpool's Albert Dock, inside the Merseyside Maritime Museum building. It is the only one of its kind and looks at the aspects of historical and contemporary slavery. It looks at the people of West Africa and their rich and varied history and culture developed, long before European slaves.

Knowsley Safari Set among 12,000 acres, Knowsley Safari in Merseyside provides visitors with fantastic opportunities to learn about wildlife close-up. Its five-mile-long Safari Drive offers the chance to see some of the world’s most amazing animals such as white rhinos, lions, wolves and bison. Its Foot Safari allows visitors to find out more about giraffes, meerkats and birds of prey, amongst many other species.

Beatles StatuesAn iconic statue of the Fab Four, in their hometown. The Beatles Statue arrived on Liverpool's Waterfront in December 2015. Nature and national parksSefton Park & Sefton Park Palm HouseClassified as a Grade One listed park by English Heritage, the magnificent 200-acre Park looks like a natural landscape rather than a man-made park. Amongst the park's many features are a boating lake, replica statues of Eros and Peter Pan and a café. The park is also home to the famous Palm House, a fabulous glass-panelled building that has been restored to its former glory.

Calderstones ParkCalderstones is a stunning 94-acre family park in South Liverpool boasting woodland, lake and fields (and a one thousand-year-old oak tree), and beautiful Japanese and old English gardens.

Crosby BeachVisitors can walk along Crosby Beach and the Coastal Path and take in views of the sea, the Wirral and North Wales. The 22 mile Sefton Coastal Path starts at Crosby Beach, and a section of the national cycle path network runs the length of the Park.

Formby - National Trust (walks & beach)The National Trust's Formby, Merseyside, is a glorious beach with dramatic sand dunes, surrounded by sweeping coastal pinewoods. SportingAnfield - LFCAnfield Stadium is the home of Liverpool Football Club (LFC). Goodison - EFCGoodison Park has been the home of Everton Football Club (EFC). It was the first major football stadium to be built in England and opened in 1892.Everton's main rival is Liverpool, whose home stadium at Anfield is just under one mile away from Everton's home at Goodison Park, and the two clubs contest the Merseyside derby.

Tranmere Rovers - WirralTranmere Rovers is Wirral's local football team. In 1887 Tranmere Rovers relocated to Ravenshaws Field (later re-named as Prenton Park), but in 1912 they moved to the Prenton Park where they are known to play to this day.

Aintree Racecourse - Home of the Grand NationalAintree Racecourse is a racecourse in Aintree, Metropolitan Borough of Sefton, Merseyside, England, bordering the city of Liverpool. The racecourse is best known for annually holding the world-famous Grand National steeplechase. The Grand National meeting takes place in April over three days. Aintree also holds sessions in May and June (both on Friday evenings), October (Sunday), November and December (both Saturdays).

Goodison - EFC

Warrington WolvesWarrington Wolves are a professional rugby league club in Warrington, England that competes in the Super League. They play rugby at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, having moved there from Wilderspool in 2004. They are the current Challenge Cup holders, after successfully beating St. Helens at Wembley Stadium on the 24th August 2019, to win their first trophy since 2012.

Widnes VikingsThe Widnes Vikings are an English professional rugby league club based in Widnes, Cheshire that plays in the Betfred Championship. The club plays its home matches at the Halton Stadium. Founded as Widnes Football Club, they are one of the original twenty-two rugby clubs that formed the Northern Rugby Football Union in 1895, making them one of the world's first rugby league teams.

St Helens RFCSt Helens R.F.C. is a professional rugby league club in St Helens, Merseyside who compete in the Super League, the top tier of competition for rugby league in Europe. Formed in 1873, St Helens are one of the 22 original members of the Northern Rugby Football Union and have been league champions on 14 occasions.

Theatres and entertainmentEmpire TheatreOver the years it has hosted many types of entertainment including variety shows, musicals, operas, pop concerts, and plays. This fantastic venue has hosted the Beatles in their early years. Many royal commands and variety shows have been enjoyed here.

M&S Bank ArenaThe arena opened in 2008 with the launch event for Liverpool’s year as European Capital of Culture. Part of The ACC Liverpool Group and purpose-built as one of the next generation of event venues, it has a track record of delivering high profile, world-class events and creating unforgettable memories.

Cavern Club The Cavern Club opened on 16 January 1957 as a jazz club, later becoming a centre of the rock and roll scene in Liverpool in the early 1960s. The club became closely associated with the Merseybeat music genre and, famously, regularly played host to The Beatles in their early years.

O2 Academy The O2 Academy Liverpool (formerly the L2 and Carling Academy Liverpool) is a music venue located on Hotham Street, that is run by the Academy Music Group. The main building consists of performance areas. O2 Academy1 can hold 1,200 people while O2 Academy2 can hold 500.

The Hot Water Comedy Club The Hot Water Comedy Club was founded in 2010 by brothers Paul and Binty Blair, and since then has gone on to become one of the most successful comedy clubs in the world.
