following the River Esk from its mouth at Ravenglass to its source high up in the Scafell mountains. Day 1 starts with a journey on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway. The route then goes round the Esk estuary, then inland over Muncaster Fell and down to the Bower House Inn for the night. NB: Before setting out on this walk, please read the next two routecards carefully. Day 3 is very strenuous, so be sure this is a journey you feel able to complete.
