life expectancy for males is 68.5 years

2005-2009 there were 776 alcohol related deaths in North East Glasgow, 89% above Scottish average.

North East Glasgow has highest admissions and death rates relating to alcohol in Glasgow

From 2007-09 there were 9354 alcohol related & attributable hospital admissions in North East, 56% above Scottish average.

Commissioned 2008 by Glasgow Community Safety Services

Consulted with people living in all areas of the city

Showed that 99% of people felt that alcohol affected their community is some way

79% felt that alcohol affected their community in a medium – large way

Negative affects of alcohol accounted for 95% of the responses
