Recently, our organization completed our “School Lane Banner Project” on Grand Ave. It is a source of great pride for our organization and we have had positive input from the community at large regarding the project. It would not have been possible for us to launch this project without the assistance of our members and the community and we are so appreciative of that! However, there are three businesses that we would like to nominate as Chamber All-Stars. Without them, the banners surely would not have been possible and they are….

Recycled Wardrobes: Owner, DeAnn Alsaker donated $550 from the sale of prom dresses at her shop! Her words to us were “Good business through good works!”

NB Municipal Water and Light: They were Johnny-on-the-Spot in getting our hot-off-the-press banners up and flying high in time for the North Branch High School Graduation. In addition, they keep the existing banners on Main Street looking good and switch them out with the American Legion’s flags during patriotic holidays.

Indigo Signs: Our contact at Indigo Signs, Randy Andrews, has been with us every step of the way making sure the sizing and logistics of the banners was correct. He made sure that all of the different art work for the banners had the same color red – not an easy task! Yes, that’s his business but then on placement of our order, his company donated $600 to the banners! Thank You NB Chamber of Commerce for all you do and for your All-Star Program which gives us a place to showcase businesses that go over and above!

ACCESS CHURCH: Abundant Life has changed its name to Access Church. We are looking forward to launching a second campus in Isanti in Nov. 2014. However, the move will put us within 20 miles of another Abundant Life church in Blaine. Knowing the confusion that already exists, we have decided to rename our church. We will still be the same great church that hundreds of people have come to love. Pastor Kevin Haseltine will still be the Lead Pastor, and the rest of the staff will all stay on board. We’ll have the same relevant and excellent services that our attenders are used to. If you have questions about the name change or future campus, please head over to our website at www.accesschurchonline.org where you can find detailed information, as well as ways to contact us if you need further assistance.

Congratulations to the AmericInn Lodge & Suites for receiving the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Award. The accolade, which honors hospitality excel-lence, is given only to establishments that consistent-ly achieve outstanding traveler reviews on TripAdvi-sor. Jack Juve, General Manager wishes to thank all past guests who took the time to complete a review on TripAdvisor and feels there is no greater seal of approval than being recognized by one’s customers. The AmericInn in North Branch just celebrated its 14th year in business.

North Branch Area Public Schools (NBAPS), after an exhaustive process, has chosen a new logo to repre-sent the school district to the public. Updates to the school district logo became necessary after the closing of the Main Street School, which was visually represented in the existing school district logo.In choosing a replacement, NBAPS looked for a simple design that highlighted both the school district's dedication to quality education and the character of the northern Chisago County area. The result is a logo that honors the natural beauty of the area, the Sunrise River, and the school district's dedication to producing graduates that "reach for the stars." The logo also capsulizes the NBAPS vision statement; a commitment to the community to inspire dreams, build integrity, and instill hope, in all things. The new brand is also the symbol of the school district's promise to open doors to a bright future for students and the community. NBAPS honors that promise by continuing to serve as a hub for the community, creating excellent educational opportunities for students, providing transparency, efficiently using public funds, and maintaining strong community partnerships.

Congratulations

How Can a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Help Me?

If your goal is to achieve financial independence, then it may be wise to have a professional there to support you towards your financial goals. A CFP® may be just who you’re looking for. A certified financial planner™ meets the following requirements and adheres to the Financial Planning Board of Standards:

EDUCATION – Coursework in curriculum approved by CFP Board.

EXAMINATION – Pass a 2-day, 10-hour applied knowledge test.

EXPERIENCE – At least 3 years minimum planning experience.

ETHICS – Abide by strict code of professional conduct. These four E’s define the core values of financial planning, and you can expect a CFP® to act with integrity, offering you professional services that are objective and based on your individual needs. If you have questions about how I apply my CFP® certification in my practice, I’d be happy to schedule a time to meet with you. As the owner of The Simonson Group at Focus Financial, I look forward to helping you and your families. Securities offered through Royal Alliance Associates, Inc., member FINRA/SIPC.
