From Your Pastor …

Dear Family of God,

Every family needs to look at their income and then what

they spend. Everyone in the family contributes something

to the family. In the church family, each of us are called by

God to contribute financially to the welfare of and the

ministry of the body. It involves a lot of things; it might be

utility bills, mortgage or money to give to the mission enterprises that we do or

that in which our Association, State or the Southern Baptist Convention partici-

pates.

As a body of Christ, we choose to be ruled by the Scriptures, God’s Holy Word!

His Word tells us to bring the tithes into the storehouse. (Malachi 3:10, Bring the

whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in

this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the flood-

gates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room

enough to store it.) Paul basically says, on Sunday, first day of the week, set

aside a portion of your income, so that you can have it ready to give. (1 Corin-

thians 16:2, On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a

sum of money in keeping with your income, saving it up, so that when I come

no collections will have to be made.)

Then, in the second letter to the Corinthians, Paul says to the church, “…see that

you also excel in this grace of giving.” (2 Corinthians 8:7) Paul is not through

yet about the church’s (the people of God) giving. He says, “Remember this:

Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously

will also reap generously. 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in

your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheer-

ful giver. 8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all

times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”

So, let me ask you, “How are you giving to the church of Jesus Christ here at

North Anderson Baptist?” On Wednesday, August 21 at 6:30 pm, we will have

a business meeting regarding the financial status of our church family. Please

come and see what has happened in a little over half of this year and be a part of

the decision-making process of YOUR church.

From our Administrator & Educator...

I really don’t know why summers are so hectic around here. I am

in the same boat as last year. I am feeling overwhelmed with

things to do, just like last year at this time. VBS is just around the

corner and we are working hard to have a great one. I would like

to thank all the workers in VBS this year, without you we could

not have a VBS.

I would like to encourage members to consider teaching starting

this fall. There are many teaching opportunities available that need

to be filled by September 1st. If you would like to join our team of leading children,

youth, and or adults please let me know. The church is looking now for leaders for the

new church year. Please consider and contact me if you feel God leading you to help.

Next, to help you with your responsibilities in teaching the Saluda Baptist Association

will be offering training this August 10th. The training is called EPIC and will be held at

Barkers Creek Baptist Church from 8:30 to 12 noon. Our own Tim Danyels will be lead-

ing a session on Practical Teaching Skills. Please make every effort to attend this train-

ing.

I would like to ask that you continue to pray for our children, youth, and leaders of the

Church as we move into the new school year.

Dennis

North Anderson Baptist Personnel Team would like to congratulate Kiley

Waldrop Youth & Minister to Music on his 3rd anniversary here at NABC.

North Anderson Baptist Personnel Team would like to announce that Dennis

Walker will be celebrating his 10th

anniversary as our Administrator &

Educator this coming September. Collection dates for his love offering will

begin August 4th - August 25th. Love offering presentation will be on

Sunday morning September 8th..
