WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF NORMANDY CERAMICS

For more than 60 years, we, the artisans at Normandy Ceramics, have combined tradition and innovation, experience and excellence. We blend our ancestral savoir-faire and avant-gardist inspiration to create tiles and objects in white clay that will enhance modern interiors and the most prestigious spaces. By offering a made-to-measure service and an extensive catalogue, our exceptional creations fulfil our clients’ highest requirements and the most original of ideas.

The source of our savoir-faire is the company Fauvel: it is the pride and joy of Normandy traditional crafts-manship, producing enamelled terra cotta tiles for over 60 years by using a 100% artisan process. The company’s unique expertise is nationally recognized, receiving the prestigious “Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant” label that awards commitment to preserving living heritage.

A history of savoir-faire

What is our most precious tool of all? Our hands. From obtaining plasticity of the clay to enamelling, firing and packaging, our hands guide our products through each process. It is the only method that guarantees the highest level of excellence through each production stage of our ceramic creations.

Nothing in the world can replace human’s unique talents in appreciating this extraordinary sensorial mate-rial: listening to the gentle tinkle of the tile as it leaves the kiln to hear the clay’s dazzling timbre, lightly caressing the material to assess its asperities, carefully observing the surface of each tile… In our workshops, each and every tile is examined at least once by our craftsmen. We are proud to perpetuate this traditional savoir-faire and bring it to life every day in our Normandy workshops.

Monumental projects

Prestigious monuments are enhanced by some of our most beautiful creations: the Mont Saint-Michel, the Grand Trianon in Versailles, the Donjon of the Chateau of Vincennes, the Royal Logis in the Chateau d’An-gers… so many beautiful, classified World Heritage buildings enriched by our savoir-faire. We are proud and honoured to have contributed to their splendour.

Our extensive catalogue of contemporary “haute couture” tiles meets the most sophisticated requests: from contemporary bathrooms to designer kitchens, the most refined interiors are enhanced by our excep-tional ceramic tiles.

Our savoir-faire has seduced some of today’s most famous creators: hypnotic geometry for the architect and designer Camille Flammarion’s bathroom creations, sensual three-dimensional tiles for the designer Adrien de Melo, a graphic, theatrical ambiance for the interior designers Toro and Liautard, and their bar Klay Saint Saveur, geometrical folds for Pietro Seminelli, the master in the art of textile folding… so many inspiring designers who, in turn, inspire us every day.

Whether you are a company or an individual, a designer or architect, our made-to-measure offers can be adapted to your highest requirements: as we are experts in the four manufacturing processes (drawing, pressing, stamping and slip casting), and we work with three kinds of material (stoneware, earthenware and terra cotta), we can produce on request ceramic tiles in any shape, colour and quantity you wish.Our unique expertise combines the flexibility of artisanal manufacturing with the highest quality of indus-trial production.

TILES IN POURING

Our tiles manufactured by casting are entirely hand-made in our workshops in Normandy. Our most precious tool: the hand of man. From the plasticisation of the clay to the casting, from drying to enamelling, from loading to packaging, only the latter is able to guarantee a high level of quality at each stage of the manufacture of our ceramics.

These tiles are typically recognizable by their padded appearance.We offer them on order, in nearly 150 colours, satin or shiny, giving you the possibility, for exa-mple, to have unique fini-shes such as enamelled edges for more elegant creations.
