Mr Scholfield, Miss Cooper, Mr Clarke, Mrs Bennett and Mrs Gammond took 42 lucky year seven’s on a trip to Normandy on the 17th June 2010. We stayed at the fabulous hotel for 5 days and 4 nights.

We had so much fun and I am going to tell you about every thing we did…

We had lots of chances to go shopping for things at markets, shops and a shopping centre. There were lots of nice things to buy and LOTS of sweets. We had crepes (pancakes), ice cream and waffles which they sold at little vans and corner shops.

We had a packed lunch outside everyday which usually included a sandwich/ baguette, a drink of water, a piece of fruit and/ or a slice of cake.

Before breakfast, we all went downstairs to the classroom where we found out what we would be doing for the day.

We got out our activity booklets and filled out a few of the activities. We found the page that we would need for the day.

Sometimes we would do an activity which involves moving around the classroom or working in groups.

We visited a museum that was very important because it was home to the all important, Pegasus Bridge. This was a vital part of WW2. There is now a newer bridge in it’s place over the river.

There was a model of a glider that the British, American and Canadian soldiers used during D-Day.

We saw lots of wildlife. There were LOADS of starfish and jellyfish!

As well as sand, the beach was covered in shells! The sea was really warm.

Our rooms were nice and cosy and the beds were comfy. There was a bathroom per room which contained a shower, toilet, mirror, sink, radiator and hair dryer.

The food was tasty and traditional French food. The night before Chris’s birthday, they made a birthday cake for him!
