While our new vessels may be the most visible indicator of our transformation, we are changing our entire organizational structure. We have started the process of transforming from a transportation company to becoming a full-fledged, future-oriented and client focused logistics company.

The goal of our reorganization is to increase stability, improve reliability, decrease delays and minimize negative impacts to the environment. Most cargo owners today seek the cheapest solutions, where unfortunately the environment often pays the biggest price. We are addressing a need we know will come in the future and want to help our clients pick the best, most effective and environmentally friendly logistics solutions.

This type of ship has won an abundance of prestigious awards, both for its innovative design and its contribution to “green” logistics. The awards include: the Thor Heyerdahl Award 2014, the Next Generation Ship Award 2011, the Environment Award – Transportation and Logistics 2013 (Miljø- prisen – Transport & Logistikk) and the Green Ship Technology Award 2013.

The new LNG vessels are more environmentally friendly than the vessels they will replace and use 18% less energy. CO2 emissions are reduced by 38%, NOx emissions by 90%, while SOx and particle emissions are reduced by a whopping 100%.

The benefits and opportunities provided with our new ships are not just limited to those of the environment. MV Kvitbjørn and MV Kvitnos repre- sent a wide array of opportunities no other maritime logistics company has in Northern Europe. Each of the two ships have a capacity equivalent to 200 semitruck loads and have greatly increased the flexibility of transporting goods from land to sea. The ships are equipped with ro-ro capabilities which allows us to drive the cargo directly on and off the ship during loading and discharging. The crane

capacity has also increased, and reduces our depen- dency on the cranes available at load/unload sites. Norway is a country built around its natural resources – where fish and the sea have been one of the most important pillars of our foundation. This is something we do not take lightly. Each ship has reefer capacities equivalent to 40 full semi truck loads. Combined with the location of our terminals and our logistics system, this makes it the perfect mode of transportation for fish and other seafood to the continent.

NEW SHIPS, NEW POSSIBILITIES In cooperation with Rolls Royce, Nor Lines has developed the world’s most environmentally

friendly cargo ship. This was a clear ambition upon project start - our new ship was going to be the greenest in the world. The ships are fueled by liquid natural gas and have a very innovative design

in regards to hull design, propulsion and power generation.

The implementation of our new routes and timetables is one of the most drastic changes since the founding of Nor Lines. As a customer, this means we have made a good system even better. We have analyzed our entire organization from top to bottom and asked ourselves these important questions: How can we make our logistics solutions even more effective for our customers? How can we reduce our gas emmissions and leave a greener footprint? Our answers are implemented in our new routes and timetables. Our new timetable is the result of our thorough work and analyzation. We have optimized, effectivized, and improved our entire logistics chain. Our distri- bution grid on land and at sea is now more closely integrated. Together with our agents and terminals, we can offer a more seamless logistics solution. Our mission is clear: become an integral part of value creation for our customers.

Our fleet will also be upgraded and updated as part of the new liner schedule. MV Kvitbjørn is the first of two new natural gas powered cargo ships set to replace older tonnage in our liner routes beween Northern Europe and the Norwegian Coast to Northern Norway. Its sister ship, MS Kvitnos, is set to deliver this summer. Even though our fleet will be reduced from nine ships to seven, we are able to keep our same level of capacity. The average age per ship will be reduced from 29,1 years to 11,2 years, giving us a 61,5% reduction in age.

We have cooperated with Hurtigruten many years, and have the cargo capacity at our disposal on all of the Hurtigruten ships. This allows us to reach the central points of the small communities along the Norwegian Coast in a way no one else can.

Both our foreign and domestic terminals perform all kinds of pick up and distribution services. The terminals have a wide variety of capacities and capabilities. As an added factor of increased avail- bility, Nor Lines can offer storage solutions at select facilities tailored to your specific needs. Our terminals are centered around the major destinations for all of our cargo trucks and serve as a valuable link in the logistics chain. We have an extensive group of Supply Chain Management Specialists and many years of experience in the industry.
