Nordic Pocket Saw was founded in 2015 by two childhood friends who saw an opportunity in creating a quality product for their own outdoor adventures and later for thousands of other outdoor enthusiasts.
It all started with a friend of them going for a hunting trip to the Amazonas. He went to the most remote parts of Amazon’s jungle and on his travel, he met native people from different tribes. With him on the trip he had brought a hand powered chainsaw, which he had bought in Eastern Europe. He decided to give it to the one of the tribe leaders who appreciated the present a lot and said they were going to use it.
The two childhood friends were later told about the meeting with the tribe leader and they thought a similar saw could be useful on their outdoor adventures. When searching for the tool they realized that they where not to be found in Sweden, nor in Europe. They ended up buying some samples from Amazon US but when put to the test, the saws broke down or did not perform at all.
INTERNATIONAL BRANDThis is where the idea of producing a hand powered chainsaw with high quality was born. Today Nordic Pocket Saw has be-come an international brand with sales in more than 25 countries on 5 different continents. Ever since the start, quality has been the guiding star when developing new products, this since customers should be able to rely on our tools when putting them to the test. Making quality products is also a crucial starting point in our continuous work of being and becoming more sustainable for each year.
NORDIC POCKET SAWIn the company, we are a good group of people with different interests in outdoors, forestry, cross-country running, orienteering, skiing and more. As an example, we have an employee who grew up as the fifth-generation sawmill owner. We also have a former elite orienteerer who has won every lunch run at the company so far. We find it important to be interested in sports and outdoors since that is when you will have an understanding of what true value means for a customer within our segment.

The original version is a smart, packable and lightweight hand powered chainsaw that is easy to pack in your backpack or attach on your belt. It is a perfect companion for hiking, in the lodge, in your prepping kit, SUV, snowmobile or on your mountain bike. It is used by multiple military forces in Europe.
The chain is 65 cm long and made of heat-treated high carbon steel with 33 bi-directional teeth which ensure maximum performance when being used. The handles are made of tough nylon and are extra-large to give you a secure grip even when wet. The chain has been tested in a Swedish laboratory and can withstand a force 20 times stronger than a human can achieve at normal use. Five years warranty.

X-LONGThe X-Long is a longer version of the Nordic Pocket Saw Original and has been developed for two persons operating it. Double power enables the users to cut thicker logs and branches more effectively.
Except from the length of X-Long, it has the same characteristics and attributes as the Original version. This product was developed after a query from military forces. X-Long comes in green.

The Nordic Pocket Saw Premium is a more classic and robust version for those who prefer natural materials. The leather comes from Tärnsjö Tannery who only use organic leather supplied by local Swedish farmers. The chain is 65 cm long and made of heat-treated high carbon steel with 33 bi-directional teeth, which ensures maximum performance when in use. Premium version comes in brown leather.
LEATHERSince leather is a natural material it puts higher demand on maintenance. Be sure to lubricate the leather every now and then with leather balm, since this will decrease the risk of dry cracks and extend the life time of the leather. When maintaining your Premium version properly the leather will develop a beautiful patina over time. Also be aware that the handles may be stretched to some extent, however, this is considered normal for leather materials.

The Arborist is developed to ensure a safe and efficient cutting when trimming hard to reach branches. This product enables the users to cut branches 8 meters up without using a ladder or having a professional to do it. Due to the long straps attached to the saw, the users can step back to safe distance of 8-10 meters while cutting the branch. This feature makes the Arborist a safe tool and prevents possible injuries from falling branches or sticks.
CHAIN FEATURESThe chain cuts in both directions when pulling the straps back and forth. This ensures continuously effective cutting since no power is going to waste. Unlike the other products in our assortment the Arborist has a double-sided chain which enables cutting from both sides. This means that it does not matter which direction the chain is placed over the branch. Therefore, the user will not have the trouble to flip the chain to its correct position but can instead start cutting straight away. The chain can also be detached from the long straps and be used on the ground.
