Kevin Boe

Kevin earned ten letters at MCC, three each in football and basketball and four in track. He was a two time All Conference in both football and basketball, was team captain in all three sports, and won numerous individual awards. In track Kevin participated in the state track meet as a junior in the high jump and the long jump where he placed sixth. In 1985 as a senior he participated in three events, eighth in the high jump, fifth in the triple jump and in the long jump where he finished second.

Kevin attended NDSU where he participated in track in the decathlon and where he received a degree in business. He is currently the district sales manager of Sanofi Aventis Pharmaceuticals. Kevin and his wife Shannon live in Glenwood, MN. They have two children, Courtney 16 yr and Zachary 14 yr.

Susan Olson Lee Sue earned fourteen letters in high school athletics at MCC and eight letters in college at Mayville State. Her remarkable athletic resume is as long as it is versatile.

MCC volleyball: lettered 10-l l-12 t h , Hustle Award 10-l l-12 t h , North Border All Conference 11-12, Captain & MVP 12 t h grade.

MCC Basketball: lettered 8-12 th, North Border All Conference 9-12 t h, MVP 10-12 th, Captain 10-12 th, scored 1,374 pts, MCC career records for assists 247 and steals 319

MCC Track: lettered 7-12th, state participant shot 10-12th, placed eighth as senior and captain l l - 1 2 t h

Mayville State: Basketball lettered 1-4, captain 3-4, all conference 3-4, MVP 3 r d year, All Star Player in Morris Tourney scored 931 career points, fast pitch softball lettered 1-4, captain and MVP 4 t h year, All Conference and All district shortstop year 4.

Sue graduated from Mayville State with a teaching degree in Math and has taught in Strandquist, Lester Praire, and Plummer and is currently teaching in Oklee. She married Mark Lee and they have four daughters Kayse 17 yr, Jami 16 yr, Sheena 12 yr and Courtney 10 yr.

Mike Fincher Mike graduated in 1977 having earned 14 letters. He was a three year letter winner in baseball where he pitched and played first base. Three years in track throwing the shot and disc, four years in football where he played defensive line and tight end. Mike was a four year letter winner in basketball where he was All-Conference three years, team MVP, captain, and lead the 1977 team to a 23-3 record and a District title. The Nordics were 68-29 during his four varsity years. Mike scored 1,309 pts, second in MCC history, and is the school record holder in blocked shots 123 and rebounds 1,115. He is among the leaders in field goal shooting percentage and once over a two game period made 25 free throws in a row.

Mike played two years of basketball at UMC. He is currently the circulation manager for the Morning News in Rogers, Arkansas, where he resides. He has four children, Kendrick who has passed away, Keegan 18 yr, Kylee 10 yr, and Brennan 8 yr.

Denise (Stokke) Rokke Denise was a three sport athlete at MCC. She lettered three years in volleyball and in her senior year was All-Conference and All District. She was also a three year letter winner in basketball. She was awarded best defensive player as a junior and MVP All-Conference and All District as a senior. In track Denise lettered four years and competed in the state track meet as a junior and senior in the disc. Her leadership was demonstrated as team captain in all three sports and when she returned to MCC to coach junior high athletics.

Denise received a degree in Sales and Marketing at Northland College. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from UND with a degree in Occupational Therapy. Denise has worked in that field ever since making stops at United Hospital in Grand Forks, Sioux Valley Health Systems, and currently at Waseca Medical Center.

Denise is married to Newfolden graduate John Rokke. They reside in Waseca and have two children Brendan 26 yr and Kristen 24 yr. Denise says her greatest thrill in sports was watching both her children be on state championship teams.

Denae Mjelde Bayne, 5'5 junior guard

A volleyball and basketball letter winner, Denae was two times All-Conference in volleyball. She has three children Shelby 16 yr, Brady 12 yr and Parker 5 yr. Denae and her husband Terry Bayne live in Viking. She serves as a guardian ad litem, a court appointed advocate for children.

Natalie Ueland Price, 5'9 junior forward

Natalie lettered in volleyball, basketball, and track and served as a captain in all three sports. She holds the school record in the 300 meter hurdles and was All-Conference in volleyball and basketball and was the recipient of the David Sparby Award. Natalie played volleyball and basketball at UMC and was inducted into the UMC Basketball Hall of Fame in 2003. She earned a marketing degree from MSU and is employed as a marketing coordinator at Kraus Anderson in Minneapolis. She is married to Patrick Price and lives in Cedar, MN.

Kelli Anderson, 5'9 sophomore Center

Kelli lettered in volleyball, basketball, and track where she holds the school record in the long jump and 200 meter dash. She was a captain and All-conference in both volleyball and basketball. She was a winner of the AAA and David Sparby Awards. Kelli has a degree in Elementary Education from MSU and is currently teaching in Frazee, MN. She and her husband Keith Hanninen have three children Olivia 8 yr, Gabe 5y r, and Millie 2 yr and live in Detroit Lakes.

Kari Boe Hansen, 5'5 sophomore Guard

Kari was a letter winner in three sports. She was All-Conference in basketball and volleyball and a sprinter on the track team. She lives in Stephen where she manages the American Legion. She is married to Jon Hansen. They have four children Lukein 15 yr, Brooklyn 13 yr, Bailey 9 yr and Sandler 8 yr.

Danae Bengtson, 5'2 sophomore guard

Danae is a letter winner in basketball and track where she is the school record holder in the 100 meter dash. She lived for a time in Alaska and currently resides in Redmond, WA, where she is an administrative assistant for Quality Business Systems.

Angie Nelson Mills, 5'4 sophomore guard

Angie was a letter winner in volleyball and basketball. She also played both sports at Northland. Angie is married to Chris Mills and lives in Stephen where she is employed by the school. They have three sons Davis 13 yr, Peyton 10 yr and Isaac 8 yr.

Taren Stennes Pratt, 5'5 sophomore guard

Taren was a three sport letter winner. All Conference in volleyball and basketball and the captain of her track team. She is married and lives in Caddo Mills, TX.

Char Rae Underdahl Chwialkowski, 5'10 sophomore Center

Letter winner in both volleyball and basketball Char Rae was a volleyball captain. She has a degree in Interior Design from NDSU. She is currently employed as an interior designer for Hannahers Inc. of West Fargo where she lives with her husband Jay Chwialkowski and their four children Cooper 9 yr, Darian 7 yr, Nadia 4 yr and Raina 6 months.

Melinda Halfaday, 5'9 freshman forward

A letter winner in track and basketball Melinda was All Conference in basketball. She lives in Florence, SD.

Darcene Moen Burgess, 5'10 8 t h grade center

Darcene was a letter winner and a captain in three sports. She was All Conference in volleyball and basketball and scored 1,096 pts in her high school basketball career. At Mayville State, Darcene was All Conference in both volleyball and basketball. She graduated with a degree in elementary education and has taught and coached at Pembina and Neche since graduation. She was named District Volleyball Coach of the Year. She is married to Chris Burgess and lives in Cavalier, ND. They have two children Sterling 5 yr and Rylen 3 yr.
