Julian OcanasJune 15, 2015Speech DualNonVerbal CommunicationFrom watching this video I have learned that you can tell a lot aout a person simply !rom their !acial e"pressions when they communicate with others# One good way is noticing and e"amining their reactions to $uestions and answers# %he most common types o! reactions you can easily see is a sudden movement o! the ody# It can e as simple as a twitch o! the eye, or as comple" as a increase o! their rate o! reathing# &ost cops and detectives have to go through the troule o! going !ace to !ace with criminals, so they all !ound a way to use nonveral communication to their advantage# &any o! them use these techni$ues to 'usti!y whether they are lying or telling the truth# &ost cops and detectives use the same techni$ues that way they can see the sign that the criminal is giving away# %he way the detective made theold guy repeat his lie ac(wards was intelligent, ecause i! he was telling thetruth it wouldn)t have een as di!!icult to repeat it oth ways# *hen the detective as(ed the young (id aout what happened to the lady that was murdered, he $uic(ly reali+ed how dialated his pupils were# During the interigation the detective noticed the way the young man reactingto the terrile news# ,e noticed how he too( more seconds than a regular clueless person would)ve ta(en to react# -ll that did was give an understanding to the detective that he is guilty# %he way the detective wal(edout o! the court and was ale to pin point the things the people did to show they were lying was amusing# I didn)t (now that cops and detectives use these techni$ues, and that)s ecause I want to study into law en!orcement# Overall I am thrilled we viewed this short clip in class, mainly ecause it helped me understand what I must do to help me succeed in my !uture career#
