NONPROFIT LEADERS LEARNING GROUPA Program of the Fieldstone Leadership Network
WHAT The Fieldstone Leadership Network is offering a Nonprofit Leaders Learning Group for senior managers of a nonprofit organization. The group will meet for six one-day seminars held over a six-month period.
WHY This is an opportunity for you to learn about leadership concepts and styles and executiveleadership issues, develop a network of resources for future use, and to establish newrelationships with a supportive peer group. The group enables you to share with yourpeers in a confidential environment.
WHENThe seminars will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month for six months beginning Thursday, January 9, 2020. Please mark your calendar with the following dates: January 9, February 13, March 12, April 9, May 14, and June 11. Coffee, drinks and lunch will be provided.
WHERE The group will meet in the Large Conference Room of Fieldstone Leadership Network located at 14 Corporate Plaza Drive, 2nd Floor, Newport Beach, CA 92660.
WHO The Learning Group is limited to 11 senior managers of nonprofits, selected to give a balance of size and experience. Each participant makes a commitment to participate in all six sessions.
The group's facilitator is Michael Carr. Michael is a visionary in the field of social services with a 39-year commitment to working with youth in the inner city. As former Executive Director of SAY San Diego for 31 years, Michael led his organization though an amazing growth, to become a leader in the development of community based partnerships and collaborations in San Diego. His recent interests in developing leadership in the nonprofit sector has led to several additional involvements including Chairing the Advisory Committee for USD’s degree program in non-profit management and assisting in the facilitation of the Fieldstone Leadership Network Coaching Program. Over the years he has served on various boards and commissions. He married Barbara in 1977 and then had their sons Josh and Sam in 1979 and 1983. His hobbies include woodworking, hiking and golf.
HOW Each fast-moving seminar will be broken down into five sessions: - An opportunity for two members to present a current organization/leadership
problem, which the group will then clarify and work together to developsolutions.
- Feedback from two members and a discussion on the usefulness of solutionsworked out at the previous meeting.
- A resource-sharing time, the results of which will be compiled in a take-homeresource guide.
- A presentation and discussion by the facilitator on a particular managementmodel or topic requested by the group.
- A group evaluation of the effectiveness of the day and how the group canimprove its own usefulness to one another.
COST A nominal cost of $600 per person is required. All other costs associated with the program are underwritten by Fieldstone Leadership Network.

1. The Fieldstone Learning Group is one of peer learning which requires participation from the entire group, therefore, it ismandatory that you attend all six sessions. The sessions are one full day, from 9:00am to 4:00pm on the the secondThursday of the month. If you are unable to complete any of the sessions below, you will not be able to graduate fromthe Learning Group or remain in the Fieldstone Leadership Network and your tuition will be forfeited.

3. The work of Fieldstone Leadership Network includes the taking of pictures of our leadership programs and participants andour involvement with the community. As a partner with us and a participant in our various programs you acknowledge thatyour image may appear in our photographs and videos. You agree to give permission to Fieldstone Leadership Network touse these images in our publications and communication vehicles, including our website and social media platforms.
4. There may be sensitive information that is shared in the sessions. In honor of our value of teamwork and trust, all information shared as part of this group is to remain confidential.
