Ink
Our writing group selected the word ink for its monthly theme and I really think it might work as a poetic verbal link to keep our compositions all in synch. It’s obvious that I try not to arbitrarily blink nor overlook that grand musical audible clink lest I be labeled some kind of irresponsible fink who cannot compose without an occasional drink. Now there has got to be a serious link leading us back to the subject of ink and I have no intention of raising a stink since I am one who prefers to stay in the pink. If the ice should melt at the skating rink, the skaters would certainly have to sink, but that has nothing to do with the subject of ink and so I’ll just end with a smile and an Irishman’s wink. —C. F. Kelly

I often receive information and jokes and thought that since we are all tired of winter, maybe some of
these would help!!
THE LITTLE OL’ LADY FROM LARAMIE Sitting on the side of the highway waiting to catch speeding drivers, a State Trooper sees a car puttering along at 22 m.p.h. He thinks to himself, “This driver is just as dangerous as a speeder!” So he turns on his lights and pulls the driver over. Approaching the car, he notices that there are five elderly ladies — two in the front seat and three in the back, wide eyed and white as ghosts. The driver, obviously confused, says to him, “Officer, I don’t understand, I was doing exactly the speed limit! What seems to be the problem?” “Ma’am, the officer replies, “you weren’t speeding, but you should know that driving slower than the speed limit can also be a danger to other drivers.” “Slower than the speed limit? No sir, I was doing the speed limit exactly … twenty-two miles an hour!” the elderly woman says a bit proudly. The State Trooper, trying to contain a chuckle explains to her that 22 was the Wyoming State route number, not the speed limit. A bit embarrassed, the woman grinned and thanked the officer for pointing out her error. “But before I let you go, Ma’am, I have to ask...Is everyone in this car OK? These women seem awfully shaken and they haven’t muttered a single peep this whole time,” the officer asks. “Oh, they’ll be all right in a minute, officer. We just got off Route 119.”
CHUCKLE FOR THE DAY Remember old folks are worth a fortune with silver in their hair, gold in their teeth, stones in their kidneys, lead in their feet, and gas in their stom-achs. I have become a little older since I saw you last and a few changes have come into my life since then. Frankly, I have become quite a frivo-lous old gal. I am seeing five gentlemen every day. As soon as I wake up, Will Power helps me get out of bed. Then I go to see John. Then Charlie Horse comes along, and when he is here he takes a lot of my time and attention. When he leaves, Arthur Ritis shows up and stays the rest of the day. He doesn’t like to stay in one place very long, so he takes me from joint to joint. After such a busy day I’m really tired and glad to go to bed with Ben Gay. What a Life! P.S. The Preacher came to call the other day. He said at my age I should be thinking about the hereafter. I told him, oh, I do all the time. No matter where I am in the parlor, upstairs, in the kitchen, or down in the basement, I ask myself what am I here after?

THIS IS A REAL NATIONWIDE SCAM AS REPORTED ON THE NIGHTLY NEWS. PLEASE SHARE THIS INFORMATION WITH YOU FRIENDS, NEIGHBORS AND LOVED ONES.
“Can you hear me now?” phone calls are robocall scammers who wants to steal your identity and money.
Here’s how it works. Your phone rings and you hear someone say “can you hear me now?” or something similar. If you say
“yes”, the system records your “yes” and can then use it to make it sound like you agreed to whatever they are selling. You
might then be facing unexpected charges.
The Better Business Bureau reports that more than half of recent reports made to their scam tracker have been about these
robo calls.
The new type of robocall uses artificially intelligent voice recognition to engage you in a conversation in an attempt to get your
personal information. In one recording the robot was programmed to laugh and say “I am a real person.” They also mimic
background noise to convince you that you are talking to a real person.
What should you do? It’s simple. Hang up!! Resist the urge to talk to a robot or press any numbers. Scammers may use
any kind of a response, even a negative one, to flag the phone numbers that should be called again.
How to play Sudoku
The goal of Sudoku is to fill in a 9×9 grid with digits so
that each column, row, and 3×3 section contain the
numbers between 1 to 9. At the beginning of the
game, the 9×9 grid will have some of the squares
filled in. Your job is to use logic to fill in the missing
digits and complete the grid. Don’t forget, a move is
incorrect if:
Any row contains more than one of the same number from 1 to 9
Any column contains more than one of the same number from 1 to 9
Any 3×3 grid contains more than one of the same number from 1 to 9
