Nomow Safe is an impact absorbing exterior safety flooring system using a range of durable, natural looking artificial grasses. The composite layering construction provides this choice of artificial grasses at a range of Critical Fall Heights from 1 metre to 3 metres.

Nomow Safe System uses the latest polymer technology and is developed in laboratory conditions. The system has patent applied for.

Each option has been tested to European Standard EN 1177:2008 Impact absorbing playground surfacing. Standards testing was conducted in an independent, accredited testing facility.

Nomow Safe is a multiple composite of artificial grass installed over a medium density neoprene shock spreader laid over an absorption base of cross linked cellular polymer foam.

• Impaxco latex mat takes the initial shock of a fall; Spreading and dissipating the load.

• Shocksafe polymer mat has a unique dual maxi and micro cell structure which, compresses and progressively absorbs energy under load, ensuring a controlled deceleration in a fall. Following the impact the cell structure recovers 100%.

Testing you can trust

Nomow Safe is tested to Standard EN 1177:2008 in accredited laboratory controlled conditions. In this test, a hemispherical ended headform of mass 4.6Kg is dropped from progressively greater heights on to a sample of the Nomow Safe sample layer system. The Head Injury Criterion (HIC) of each impact is calculated from the acceleration/time record of the impact.

The Critical Height is determined by producing a ‘best fit’ curve for the various HIC values against drop height and interpolating to obtain the drop height corresponding to an HIC of 1000. The lowest value is used resulting from at least nine identical tests with a minimum of three in identical positions to allow for compaction.

Critical DecisionsSTEP 1 Choose the grass for your needsThe artificial grass range available with Nomow Safe offers a choice of aesthetic looks and costs. They are all soft, safe, realistic and have undergone many hours of testing to ensure they are dura-ble and UV stable.

STEP 2 Select the fall height you requireNomow Safe offers four certified Critical Fall Height levels. Critical Fall Height performance should be selected dependent on the potential maximum fall height and likely users of the equipment.

STEP 3 Measure the area that requires a safety surfaceThis will be dependent on the type and height of the play equipment in use. The positioning of the play equipment and extent of the Safety surface should be clearly identified and agreed.

• Nomow Safe can be laid directly on to hard sub-bases such as Tarmac and concrete. When laid directly on to earth it is usually necessary to apply a fine blinding layer of sharp sand to ensure a smooth flat surface.

• Sheets are loose laid with staggered taped joints.

• Artificial grass is laid over the impact layers and pinned or glued down at the edges as necessary.

• If the artificial grass is required to have joints, these are glued together using a backing tape along the joint.

• Artificial Grass is a rolled material generally 4metres wide.
