    ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2019NOMINEE FOR

    DEPUTY PRESIDENT

  • My name is Matthew Streeton and I have been a proud member of SCC since 1986. I am

standing for the position of Deputy President.

The Club has been the lynchpin of my sporting and social activities throughout my time in

Singapore. With its history, location and membership, the Club has so much to offer. Joining

this iconic Club was the second-best decision I ever made. Getting married in the Gilmour

Room was, of course, the best decision.

I am a member of the Cricket, Golf and Darts Sections and the Wine Circle. I used to play

social football for the Club in my youth.

For the past two years, I had the honour to serve as Chairman, Games Control Board which

oversees the thirteen sporting sections. I drove improvement in the Club’s sporting finances,

increased intersection tournaments leading to greater member integration, invested in

improving Dempsey Field facilities, employed a Director of Cricket and ensured that all

tournaments made a profit. Prior to that, I was Chairman of the Rules and Membership Sub

    Committee.

In addition, I have been privileged to serve the Club and members as:

    • Chairman of the Storage Facility Task Force • Chairman of the Redevelopment Task Force • Member of the Establishment Sub Committee • Member of the Property Sub Committee • Member of the Cricket Section Committee • Saturday XI Captain • Announcer / Commentator for the Cricket T20 Tournament

I arranged and oversaw the late SCC President Mike Grice’s funeral and (the Club’s)

celebration of his life. I was instrumental in bringing the successful Faulty Towers dinners to

    the Club.

On the personal front, I am a Singapore PR. My wife, Jean, and daughters, Vicky and Alex,

    are Singaporean.

    Candidate for General Committee

    Dear fellow members,

Joined this prestigious Club in 1983 as Junior Sporting Member, became a full pledged Member in

1986. Represented the Club in Rugby, Soccer and Snooker at the highest level.

Served in the General Committee from 2006 to 2009 and from 2015 to 2019, elected as Chairman of

Games Control Board for 3 consecutive years, served in various Sub-committees and as Chairman of

Establishment Sub-committee for 4 consecutive years. Awarded the Club highest award “The Lifetime

    Achievement” Award in 2012.

I believe I have a great deal to offer to Singapore Cricket Club based on my 30 years of experience,

towards sports and social facets. Since joining the Club some 30 years ago, I have forged many positive

relationships within the membership of the Club, and I believe I understand the direction in which the

majority of the Members would hope to see the Club head in the future. I am passionate about the

Club’s success and long term viability in what will be a future challenging environment. I believe the

Club must not only provide the best it can for its current but also for future Members. We must focus

not only on the short term but also on the long term aims of continuing to provide the best service and

value for money for our Members.

If elected to the General Committee, I will work diligently towards ensuring that these goals can be

achieved, and to maintain the status of SCC as the Premier Sporting and Social Club in Singapore and

    around the region.

    Thank you.

    Yours sincerely,

    Ananda Kumar

  • Name: Fathima Mohietheen (F0371) I am an active and committed member of the Singapore Cricket Club. I have contributed largely to the Club in various ways, such as serving as the Netball Fixtures Secretary in 2009, I was Treasurer from 2010- 2013 and in the Club Social Sub-Committee in 2013. In the Darts Section, I was Secretary in 2013 and Convenor from 2014 -2016 & 2017. General Committee Member April 2018 till current. A new role was created in the General Committee as a Sports & Social Liaison and special projects where we wanted to integrate both the Sports and Social members on their participations and keep SCC members abreast of the happenings in the club and create more participations in the activities and events that has been lined up for the members. The first ever Soccer Intersection was organised in 2018, with the assistance of Soccer Tournament Director and it was a great success where we had about a total of 9 teams participating in the Soccer Intersection. We also had the first successful inaugural Balut Intersection in March 2019. The much success of the increased in the participation of the Intersection Games goes to Social Sports Secretaries and the Convenors of the Sports Sections, where we worked together effortlessly to ensure we have greater participation. Special Projects, the first National Bicentennial event SCC participated was Chingay in February 2019 and it was televised in the National TV, a proud moment for SCC where we showcased our core sports; Rugby, Football, Cricket and Tennis . As a contingent leader of the SCC pack, had to ensure that the team attended many rehearsals, coordinating with all the SCC participants on their roles and responsibilities, and the TEAM SCC was well represented with the most glamorous outfit. An event which was grace by the President and Prime Minister of Singapore. I am passionate in my area of responsibility and I drive for success in every assignment that I embark on. I take a lot of pride in my work and do my very best. Professionally, I am in the IT industry for the last 20 years and work as an Account Delivery Manager. I have a good business understanding, and having worked for MNC for more than a decade, I have good analytical, management, organizational and interpersonal skills. I am sure with these skills and my years of volunteering at the SCC in various sports and social groups, it stands me in good stead to serve and contribute to the club as a General Committee Member. Having vast experiences in the areas that I have contributed to at the SCC, I am positive that as a General Committee Member I will be able to organize and help the club continue to be the best sporting and club in Singapore. I am also passionate about running the club with a real interest in the future of the club and to ensure that all members have the opportunity to experience the best SCC experience. I have a friendly disposition and have a great interest in this club and the members. I am looking forward to the upcoming year, working together with the rest of the committee, staffs and also SCC Members to grow our club steadily.
