perhaps those people conceal their

malicious intention. However, some

people even criminals will stand out

and raise the name of God, similar to

what Ellias did.

In Rizal’s time, Spanish colonizers twistedly exercised

their power over Filipino people. Their perfumed

colonial ambition in the cloak of religious dogma

allures the Filipino to its amusement and misery. In

such time, Rizal witnessed the stunning scheme in

Spaniards’ presence when they tried to sway the

innocent Filipino wherein amenable response is their

latter choice.

SummarySoon as Ibarra went home, Ibarra was warned by Ellias

that ruinous occurrence was about to happen. Elias

accentuates that Ibarra has enemies thus he must need

to be careful. Ibarra was reminded to be cautious to the

malicious intentions of those with authority. Ellias

expound he jump off and held down the yellowish man

the moment when he supposed to move the foundation to

Ibarra’s position. Thereby, Ellias slay down the yellowish

man by placing him on the excavation as soon as

yellowish man tried to escape from. Ibarra was thankful

to what happened, yet he cast doubt on Ellias morals.

Shortly as dilemma arose, Ellias directly justifies his

action by telling he didn’t kill the man but he let God’s

judgement kill him.
