No Shoes Waiver

On Tuesday, May 1 from 8:15 AM until 2:45 PM, Valley Christian High School students are invited to participate in another “One Day Without Shoes” drive promoted by TOMS footwear. Students are encouraged to attend school in bare feet to raise awareness of the lack of footwear for adults and children worldwide. Students are also requested to donate gently used pairs of shoes and/or money. We will take these shoes and donate them to the Salvation Army, which they will proceed to distribute worldwide. They will give us 75 cents per pound, which will then be donated through our service learning program. The Valley Christian High School handbook states the following in regards to student footwear: a) students are required to wear shoes to school at all times, b) students may wear any style they prefer with the exception of bedroom slippers, c) students will be informed of footwear requirements that are required in specific classes such as Science, Woodworking and Physical Education (Page 31). This event will supersede these footwear regulations for this day only. Students who are willing to participate in this one- day event are required to complete the following and include the signature of one parent. This form is due no later than Tuesday, May 1, 2012. Late forms will not be accepted. ----------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------- I __________________________ (name of student) understand that the “One Day Without Shoes” event is reserved for Tuesday, May 1, 2012.
