As the name implies, Zentangles are a Zen-like way of creating images through repetitive patterns and shapes. "ZEN" refers to a set of beliefs tied to a type of Buddhism (Zen-Buddhism). Zentangles are drawings composed of patterns (tangles) that can be viewed from all four sides. Zentangles do not contain recognisable objects and there is no “right side up”. The Zentangle method is extremely focused and mindful. Take a look at the instructions on the next page and have a go at creating a Zentangle-inspired hand yourself. If you want a further challenge, try the zentangle chatterbox! No instructions, but there are photos to guide you. We would love to see your designs on twitter or email your pictures to [email protected]
