NO MORE SMOKE BREAKS
On March 19, the Board of Regents voted to bans tobacco products on college campuses.
The tobacco ban starts Oct. 1, 2014.
It’ll ban all forms of tobacco, including smokeless and electronic.
All students, faculty and staff must follow this rule.
WHAT’S THE 411
Consequences enforced by the college president.
President McKinney will decide punishments.
Police won’t hold it as a law and will not enforce it.
POLICY FORBIDS TOBACCO
How many were in support?
The SGA conducted a survey which say 33 percent of VSU student strongly supported the policy.
How many opposed?
And 44 percent of VSU students strongly opposed it.
HOW DID WE FEEL?
CDC says about 443,000 individuals die yearly.
There’s 46 million people 18 and older using tobacco.
Over 16 million have a disease caused by smoking.
Valdosta makes up .36 percent of that number.

to work harder. Cause lung, mouth, throat, bladder,
cervix, kidney and stomach cancers.
SOME EFFECTS OF SMOKING
Assistant Director for the Offi ce of Health Promotions, Holly Wright supports The Board of Regents vote to ban tobacco.
She said the Offi ce of Health Promotions want to educate VSU community on the dangers associated with tobacco use.
