NMHNZ’s inaugural conference in 2018 was a resounding success. We attracted a very high calibre of presenters from around New Zealand and Australia and set a new standard of professionalism for naturopathic conferences in New Zealand. Our 2019 promises to be even bigger and better!

The theme for 2019 is Enhancing Immunity: Mind, Body & Naturopathy. Corin has done 4 years of post-doctoral research at the Heart Research Institute (HRI) Sydney, and 4 years medical liaison cardiometabolic

Sarah is a degree qualified naturopath with further diplomas in nutrition and herbal medicine and is halfway through a Masters in Human Nutrition

from Deakin University. She has worked in multi-therapy clinics, as well as being a self-employed naturopath. Since 2015 she has worked at Wellpark College of Natural Therapies as a tutor and head of department for both the Nutrition Diploma programme and the Bachelor of Naturopathy and Herbal Medicine programme. She has recently started an online business focusing on health promotion for the public.

Sarah is one of the founding members of the Anti-microbial Resistance Working Committee for the World Naturopathic Federation.

Prof Margreet Vissers (PhD, MSc, BSc). University of Otago, Christchurch

Research Professor & Associate Dean for Research, University ofOtago, Christchurch, Margreet has a long career in medical science,

initially specialising in immune cell function, chronic disease, oxidative stress and antioxidant protection. Over the past 15 years this has expanded into investigations on the potential role of vitamin C in the prevention and treatment of cancer, immune cell function & general health and well-being. Her work has received much peer and media interest.

Paul has over 25 years experience as a practising naturopath, including delivering seminars to doctors, chiropractors and naturopaths in

Australia and New Zealand. He is a lecturer at South Australian Health Education Centre on physiology, toxicology, nutrition, herbal medicine and homeopathic practice and current president of the Complementary Medicine Association of Australia.

Sharon Erdrich (DipNat, DipHerbMed, MHSc (Hons), PhD Cand, University of Sydney

Sharon is a well-known clinician in New Zealand with over 40 years in health. She completed her MHSc (Hons) at University of Auckland, publishing

two articles in Peer-reviewed journals related to the role of nutrition in prostate cancer. In 2013 she established New Zealand’s only SiBO-focused diagnostic service and is a regular presenter on this and related topics. Sharon’s PhD is an investigation into the relationship between gastrointestinal dysbiosis and fibromyalgia and the impact of a naturopathic approach to this common presentation.
