Spelling Enhances Literacy! Exploring Words is Fun! Spelling Bees are Cool! Learning is Life! Round One It’s easy to register your school for the Scripps National Spelling Bee. Go to www.spellingbee.com to participate in the New Mexico Spelling Bee sponsored by the Albuquerque Journal and Newspapers in Education. The winner of the New Mexico Spelling Bee goes to Washington, D.C. in the spring of 2013 to compete for the title of national champion. Travel and hotel expenses are paid by the Albuquerque Journal and Newspapers in Education. Bee Early! The deadline to register is October 15, 2012, and the fee is $115.00 per school. Early registration by September 30, 2012, gets your school two subscriptions to Encyclopedia Britannica Online for Kids for one year. Here’s What You Get When you register your school and pay the fee you get all the materials online you need to plan your school spelling bee and study materials for your students. You also receive the Teacher’s BEEhive newsletter and access to information about the New Mexico Spelling Bee.
