NLN
Case Study – Employer Based Training
Easy to Read Version
The service is for: People with all kinds of disability.
Why NLN offers the service:
National Learning Network found there was a need for a course where people could learn skills they need in a company. Some of the course
is in the company and some in a centre. NLN staff support the Learner and the Employer.
Objectives:
The course helps learners to learn skills they need in a host company. Learners spend 3 days a week with the company and 2 days in a
centre.
NLN staff find a company offering the training the learner needs near
where the learner lives. Learners can see how things are done in the company and practice the skills themselves. Learners on the course
can get a FETAC or ECDL certificate.
Learners have a plan and the NLN trainer goes through this with them every month. Other members of the NLN team help the learner when
they are needed.
