Aim of the RIG

▪ The NLCFN RIG aims to facilitate the development of research to inform their practice and improve patient care.

▪ They aim to do this by:▪ facilitating collaboration and dialogue between clinical nursing and academic colleagues with a

declared interest in lung cancer and research. ▪ share knowledge of existing research activity▪ develop a consensus on research priorities▪ develop new research partnerships across clinical and academic communities that are able to work

up proposals on the priorities identified▪ identify and discuss innovative and creative research design approaches▪ share knowledge on current funding options▪ develop strategies to ensure appropriate user involvement in research

PRON FeedbackVery inspirational speaker. Good

learning experience. Funding information and study opportunities

are most useful.

great to network and meet with some

other nurse researchers

Very well organised! Great to work with such an

enthusiastic group of colleagues. Good networking.

Particularly enjoyed examples of research pathways - This for me,

humanised the research experience.

What do we mean by research (differences between audit,

service evaluation and research).

What could be better

• More interactive sessions• Pre-course work• Project focused
