Father of CCH
Dear campers,
Chodesh Nissan is the most
important month for us since
it is the Chodesh Hageulah,
and our main focus is
bringing the Geula! The
Rebbe said many times that
Nissan is a special month for
the coming of the Geulah.
Many people don’t know that
the Rebbe spoke about
Moshiach in the early years
too. At the “Moshiach
Seuda” in 5712 the Rebbe
said that leaving Mitzraim
was the beginning and the
Koach for the Geulah. From
here we understand that the
Inyan of Geulah already exists
even now in the time of
Golus.
In the Medrash it records a
story with an Arab farmer that
his cow mooed twice, the first
time when he said that the
Beis Hamikdash was
destroyed, and the second
when he said that Moshiach
was born. Here too we see
that even in a time of Golus
Moshiach still existed, and
that’s why the Amoraim
where arguing which one of
their Rebbes is Moshiach
because Moshiach was around
then too!! The Frierdiker
Rebbe used to dance the
“Moshiach Tance” on
Acharon Shel Pesach. It is
called so because Moshiach is
dancing with us!
From all this we can
understand what the Rebbe
said on 28 Nissan that he has
done all that he can and now
it depends on us. Because
from day one Moshiach has
already been here, and all we
need is to be stubborn and
make it happen!! It is
interesting because if we look
back to that Farbrengen in
5712 the Rebbe said “Chutzpa
even used towards Hashem
helps” therefore we should
ask for Moshiach with
Chutzpa and for sure we will
be Zoche to the Geula
Ha’amitis V’hashlaima
NOW!!!
If you are a camper, you are REALLY lucky, because you don’t have to decide what position to take this summer.
If you are a staff member, you are also lucky, because at least you are not a garbage collector.
In order to help our fellow staff members, we bring you a special list which only the directors use, showing the qualities needed for each position.
Head Counselor: Must have a loud voice and a scary looking face.
Learning Director: Must have a golf cart license and puppets.
Counselor: Must be Chai B’Seret and have experience killing flies with a Croc.
Learning Teacher: Must be talented enough to keep himself busy for 21 hours a day.
OD: Same as learning teacher just 24 hours.
Waiter: Must not enjoy eating on the job.
PA Manager: Must not know how to tell the time.
ATM: Must run the camp.
Director: Must know that there are more jobs than this in camp.

Oh, I did it again. Yup you
guessed it, the one thing I have to
do every month and it’s the last
second that I get to write the
interview.
So frantically I ran to 770 even
though Seder ended
hours before this. I
hoped someone would
still be around falling
asleep over their
Rambam and I could
interview them. I
walked into 770 and it
was empty, the lights
were off and there
wasn't even any music playing any
more.
I walked out a bit disappointed,
and started my walk down a quiet
and deserted Kingston Ave. As I
crossed over Crown Street and
saw the early morning bakers
baking in the Kingston Bake Shop,
I heard someone singing horribly
off tune. I turned down
Montgomery and followed the
noise. A left on Brooklyn and a
right on Sterling and there he was.
He stood 6 foot 7 and looked
about 350 pounds (but he could
have been wearing baggy clothing
and standing on crates). He
wore a backwards cap, had
his shoes on the wrong feet,
had two balloons attached
to his wrist and wore
glasses that were triple the
size of his head and were
missing lenses!
He stopped singing much to
my dismay and looked up. I
looked at him; he looked at me
and then suddenly jumped up and
started dancing giving me a huge
smile and even bigger hug. We got
to talking - which seemed like a
bad idea at 3:00 in the morning -
and I found out, amazingly that I
was talking to the future Night
Activity Director of Chayolei

Switzerland is a country which
has millions of dollars which they
and the Nazis stole from the
Jewish people during World War
2. They are now
giving some of it
back to the Jews.
The amounts of
money that they
are giving back
now keeps on
getting bigger and
bigger. In addition
i t h a s b e e n
discovered that Spain, Argentina,
Portugal, China, France, Britain,
and believe it or not the U.S. also
owe us a lot of money for stolen
objects which the Nazis hid in
these countries. The list of
countries involved in this
"business" just keeps on growing.
There is another 'riches-miracle'
taking place at the present time.
You'll be delighted to know that
oil has been discovered in Israel.
It cannot be seen of course, but
special experts know for a fact
that it's there and how much.
Believe it or not 1,800,000,000
barrels worth! That's billions and
billions of dollars worth. (Maybe
trillions).
And if that's not enough, then
listen to this: a few short months
ago scuba divers at
the shores of a city
called Ashkelon, in
Er e tz Y i sr ae l ,
discovered old
sunken ships that
are between a
hundred and two
hundred years old
with valuable coins
and other precious items inside.
It's interesting that in the times of
king Shlomo too, the waters of the
seas brought sunken ships to the
shores of Eretz Yisrael. The
Midrash says that this was where
he got the money to build the Beis
Hamikdash. It also says in the
Midrash that when Moshiach
comes the Jewish people will
receive treasures that are hidden
in the sands of the sea. And so, it
would appear that now too,
treasure-laden ships have been
brought by Hashem to Eretz
Yisroel in preparation for the
building of the third Beis
HaMikdosh!

The Israeli consul in the
Philippines told the Shliach
Rabbi Levy, “I heard about an
older Jew who is in prison about
a two-hour flight away from
Manila.”
Rabbi Levy felt sorry for the
imprisoned Jew, and in his mind
he addressed the Rebbe and
said, “Rebbe, I really want to go
see him and see how I can be of
help to him, but I don’t have the
money for a ticket. If Hashem
will send me money for a ticket,
I will go and see him.”
Not long afterward, Rabbi Levi
received a phone call from one
of the Kosher supervision
agencies. “We would like you to
fly to a certain area of the
Philippines in order to supervise
the production of a food item in
a local factory.”
Rabbi Levy felt like pinching
himself to make sure he wasn’t
dreaming. He had just asked
Hashem to send him money for
a ticket and here it was! The area
the factory was located was
precisely the place where the jail
was.
The Kashrus agency ordered a
ticket and Rabbi Levy took the
flight. Upon arriving at the
prison and managing to get in,
he met the older Jew, who was
excited to see him. The man told
him, “I was very wealthy and
doing well in business until
things began going downhill. As
a result, I got caught up in scams
involving large sums of money. I
was caught and sentenced to sit
here in jail. The conditions here
The Chayolei Monthly

are horrendous and after a while
I decided to end my life.”
“I decided to give myself one last
chance. I said to G-d that if he
didn’t want me to take this
drastic step, he should give me a
sign. And you arrived! You are
the sign!”
Rabbi Levy understood why
Hashem had sent him to that
forsaken place. From that point
on, he took care of the
imprisoned Jew. He was able to
bring Tefillin to the prison, and
from that day on the man put on
Tefillin every day.
At a certain point, the prisoner
was transferred to Manila, where
he was closer to Rabbi Levy. On
Pesach night, Rabbi Levy walked
a long way in order to bring him
Matzos and strengthen his spirits.
He told the man about the Rebbe
and about Yiddishkeit, and the
man’s faith became stronger.
On his walk back to the Chabad
house, Rabbi Levy stopped for a
rest. He met a couple who told
him that their ancestors were
Marranos from Spain who had
arrived in the Philippines via
Cuba. The couple asked Rabbi
Levy where he was coming from
and Rabbi Levy told them. It
turned out that the couple was
very wealthy and they owned a
business located directly opposite
the prison the man was in. They
began delivering food products
to him, which greatly lifted his
spirits.
Rabbi Levy also arranged for a
Filipino, who observes the
Noahide laws, to visit the inmate
and bring him food packages.
One day this Filipino told Rabbi
Levy that the man had died in
jail. The community brought him
to a Jewish burial in Manila.
Although he unfortunately was
unable to taste freedom before his
death, he died embraced with the
love of the Jewish community
and the Shliach of the Rebbe, who
had been sent to his post just in
the right time.

Rabbi Chaim Ben Atar was known to be a smart man with good Middos. His Grandfather taught him to work with Jewelry.
A Tzadik In The Lions Den 1
However the main thing in his life was Learning Torah, so he would work just enough to support himself, and the rest of the time he would learn. His boss did not like Jews, however he liked R' Chaim a lot because he was an honest man, so he let him work when he wanted to.

Mission: In honor of א ניסן“י the 110th birthday of the
Rebbe Mh”m, do something with that number that will
be a suitable present for the Rebbe!
For example learn 110 lines of one of the Rebbe’s Seforim
If you do the mission, call 347-913-5772 before Pesach
and leave your full name, and you will receive a prize!
The following missions are not only for Chayolei Hamelech campers, but for
anyone who wishes to join! Pass the word around amongst your friends!
Erev Pesach in the morning, a Siyum was being made for the first born. Berel was standing there waiting for the Siyum to start when he noticed a Chassid with his one year old child standing there.
Shocked Berel asked “Why do you bring your one year old so early in the morning”?!
The father answered simply that he wants to be able to feed his son this morning! Berel asked him with surprise “But your son doesn't understand anything anyway so what will it help”?! The father replied “I also don’t understand, what’s the difference between me and him”?!!
Its clear from this story that it does not make a difference if it’s harder for one to learn Torah it is still equally a Mitzvah on everyone.
