• Product designing (function, aesthetics and DFM), Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing: 3D-printing, CNC. • Product conceptualisation and presentation: PhotoView 360, Keynote. • Electro-opto-mechanical assembly: SolidWorks. • Linear and Rotational mechanics. • Implementation of capacitive touch system: Atmel QTouch, CorelDRAW, Laser cutting & Screen printing (basic). • Product spec analysis, sensors and components selection for optimal cost and performance. • UX and UI design: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects (basic), FluidUI. • Microcontroller programming, RaspberryPi programming: Arduino (basil), C(basic), Python (basic). • Robotics (basic): DC and servo motors, pneumatics, batteries, omni wheels, bearings. • Operating System: Windows, Mac OS X.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Co-Founder and CEO, Basil Systems Pvt. Ltd. Bangalore, India Jul 13 - Present • Hardware design (body and touch panel) of WiFi enabled, touch controlled, energy saving switch and sensors. • Electro-Opto-Mechanical assembly in a complex system of capacitive touch, display LEDs, proximity sensor, power
supply, high voltage electrical control, processor and two wireless antenna. • UX framework and UI (Mobile app and website design). • Electrical system design and circuit debugging.
Associate system engineer, IBM. Pune, India. Jun 12 - July 13 • Application development for business applications in COBOL and DB2. • Resolution of problem tickets with application servers.
Summer intern, University of Nottingham, UK. May - Jul 11 • Plasma polymer coating to prevent oligomer diffusion from PDMS catheters. Effect of oligomer diffusion on
varying chain length and thickness of deposited polymer was studied. Summer intern, Université de Mons, Belgium. May - Jul 10
• Molecular dynamics simulation using LAMMPS to study dynamics of spreading and wetting; simulation was applied to study expansion of H2 and Ar gases; calculate surface tension of liquid Gold.
PATENTS
• Design patent (Class 14-03; Design no. 264329) for “Wireless networked device for controlling home appliances”. • Patent published for “System and device for controlling/automating electronic appliances and safety of premises”
(examination under process).
PROJECTS
ABU Robocon, MIT Pune, India Oct 10 - Mar 11 • Built a manual and two autonomous robots meant for carrying and decorating objects in a specified manner while
coordinating with each other.. Robowars, IIT, Bombay, India. Oct 09 - Jan 10
• Building a remote controlled electro-pneumatic combat robot to fight in a one on one competition. The robot stood among top 16 out of 120 teams from all over India.
Bio-degradable composites (Bachelor thesis), MNIT-Jaipur, India Dec 11 - Apr 12 • A composite of 10MPa strength with less than 4 months natural degradability time (time for losing 50% of the
initial sample mass) was created using starch based matrix and natural fibres.
• “Man of the Match” in Hong-Kong Sixes 2012 cricket tournament (MNIT, India). • Core team member of robotics club ZINE (MNIT, India). • Conducted lecture series on Basic Robotics in ZINE workshop 2011; gave lectures on “Drive systems and
Mechanical assembly” and “Torque and Force analysis in Robotics”. • Event executive of line seeking maze solver robot competition “Track Tricks” in Blitzschlag 2010 (MNIT, India).
