Synopsis..

What is the meaning of life?

The human agonize continuously to find out the meaning of life questioning where the end of life is, keeping coming and going the past, the present and the future.The Buddha found great illumination in the penance and addressed Seolbeophosesang in Yeongchwi mountain.

Youngsanjae is a Buddhism ceremony reappearing it mixed with Buddhism song, dance, and music as like a millennium sound ‘Gakpirakbo’, the best in the world ‘Beompaegarak(melody)’, appeared on the mural paintings Gamnotonghwa a ‘Buddhist SaintDance’, ‘Butterfly Dance’ a quiet womanlike & fairy dance, ‘Jojeonmu(dance)’ dancingwith Bulja, ‘Sigeonmu(dance)’ expressing the gesture of holding in Sigeon, energetic Barachym(cymbals dance).

It is the performance to give a impression through the sublimation of the spirit of Buddhism which is obtaining the Buddhahood with escaping from human’s 4 pains(birth, aging, disease, death) in Youngsanjae.

Program..

Action 1 – : Morning Worship

Worship Ceremony – Musical playing of the bell of a Buddhist temple, Mogeo(wood fish), Unpan and Honggo starting with wooden gong.

Honggomu(dance) – A dance expressing the mural paintings of Buddhist saint dance of 500 years ago mixed with Honggo sound.

Fan Dance – Expressing of the beauty of spring holding splendid fan in both hands.

Butterfly Dance – Representing the great illumination with wearing beautiful costume, with gong accompaniment.

Corolla Dance – A dance for a reign of peace with wearing splendidly decorated corolla.

Action 2 – : Daeryong, Gwannyok Ceremony(Washing Ceremony)

Sangyoungsan – A large transverse bamboo flute solo.

Hyeonjwamu(dance) – Expressing the figure of a woman painted on the Gamnotaenghwa, with Beompae(a kind of instrument) accompaniment.

Gwannyok Ceremony – A ceremony washing the masses’ greed, anger, and stupidity with the Gamlobeobsu and expression of great illumination of Buddhist priest.

Jojeonmu(dance) – Accompanying with the Hwauijaejineon melody, a group dance holding in Bulja.

Sigeonmu(dance) – Offering food to Buddha mixed with Beompae Hotsori, Janggo, flute, Ajaeng. Symbolizing the the figure of holding Sigeon painted on the mural painting Gamnotaenghwa.

Fairy Dance – Symbolizing the women’s figure in the mysterious legend with the temperate dance.

Action 3 – : Sangdankwongong(Offering food for Buddha)

Georyeongsan – Beompae Jitsori(a praise for Buddha) for Sangdankwongong ceremony.

Bokcheongge – Sinmyojanggudaedarani, the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy teaching for masses.

Daepungnyu – Playing of wind instrument.

Cheonsubara – Barachum(Cymbals Dance)

Ganggansullae – Performance for solving women’s sorrow with the dance & song holding hand in hand under the moonlight.

Sikdangjakbeop – Offering ceremony getting joined together Beompae & Jakbeommu. Praise for Buddha’s charity.

Program..

Modeumbuk(The whole kinds of drum) : Symbolizing the religious service for heaven using all kinds of Korean drum.

Hoesimgok – Using the drum melody, expressing the instructive story that mankind must strive after virtue to go to heaven.

Haldeungchum – The meaning that renouncing worldly desires & lighting up a lamp of great illumination. It means that going to the Nirvana through lighting up of mankind mind

Tapdori(Revolving around pagoda) : For looking back oneself mind, the prayer for peace revolving around pagoda.

Sodaeuisik(Sending Ceremony) – A ceremony of sending spirit to heaven through the burning Jangeom.

Action 4– : Hoesimgok(reprentance song), Hoeyanguisik(Buddhist Memorial Ceremony)
