From the Desk of the Chairman...
Dear Professional Colleagues,
The onset of New Financial Year has embarked the
beginning of new set of opportunities. It’s the time when
not as an individual but as a team we have to move
forward with our commitment towards the ICAI.
The year gone by has been extremely satisfying but at
the same time it has brought in new challenges,
opportunities and fresh avenues for all of us here. So this
year we endeavour to let the torch of dynamism glow and
promise to play an inevitable role in the nation building.
Let’s “Focus on being productive instead of being just
Busy”. Our economy is in a transitional phase, in the
backdrop of various regulatory changes that have taken
place. New initiatives along with various schemes of the
Government have been launched and are under
implementation today. Whether it has been the transition
of financial reporting practices to Ind AS converged with
IFRS or even the new Insolvency and Bankruptcy law or
the implementation of the biggest tax reform in Indirect
taxes i.e GST, we the professionals have steadfastly
ensured the smooth functioning and progression of all
the reforms.
The Indian Accountancy profession has undergone a
paradigm shift in terms of embracing technology. Let’s
not forget that change is the only constant thing for
future and to tame the technology, first we have to
embrace it.
Knowledge enhancing programs
A Chartered Accountant who fails to upgrade and learn is
like an oxidised iron rod which has rusted. So keeping
that thought in mind various events/seminars have been
held for our worthy members. It was our pleasure and
3
privilege to have Past President’s, ICAI and eminent
speakers to address our esteemed members. I take pride
in the fact that the seminars have been conducted by the
experts who have an unmatchable knowledge and
wisdom in their respective fields.

Member Related Activities
I feel the pleasure in informing my Ld. Professional
Colleagues that TEAM NIRC has already submitted its
Audited Financial Statements to ICAI, which happens to
be a plus point in evaluation of Regional Councils for Best
Regional Council Criterion. Further the Audited Financial
Statements for the Financial Year ended on 31-03-2018
are enclosed in the relevant sections of this newsletter.
Also I do feel pleasure in informing that TEAM NIRC is in
the process of getting a special discount code for
Chartered Accountants from www.makemytrip.com just
like the one which ICAI has obtained from jet airways and
many more are in the pipeline. Also this year we are
committed to increase the contribution to CABF.
Student Development Activities
Our students are the pillar and the future of our
profession and with this comes our responsibility to
provide them with quality education and preparation. To
fulfil their dreams, we offer various classes at nominal
prices at different centres. From time to time Advanced
MCS batches are being announced so as to ensure that
no students have to suffer because of the non-availability
of the batches. A career counselling seminar was held for
professional enrichment of students wherein they were
guided with various post qualifications opportunities. I
thank NICASA Team for successfully holding seminars for
students and publishing NICASA e-newsletter.
