From the beginning of time God has been caring for us, His people. He made us in his image and continues to teach us and mold us into the person he wants us to be. However, he also gave us free will which for some has resulted in a decision not to accept God’s teachings, to not accept the laws handed down to mankind, laws that lead to peace and harmony. So committed is God that he sent his only Son, Jesus Christ to lead us by word

and example. Do you accept that you are a “child of God” willing to allow him to mold you and lead you with trust and fidelity of heart? Something to pray upon.

SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY The item for August is a bar of soap. Thank you to all who support the St. Vincent de Paul Society with donations and a thank you to all Vincentians who give their time to serve the less fortunate in our community.

Year of Mercy

Pope Francis has announced a “Year of Mercy” to begin on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary (December 8, 2015) and will end on November 20, 2016.

Quotes from the “Bull of Indiction of the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy” (by Pope Francis)

1. Jesus Christ is the face of the Father’s mercy.

2. We need to contemplate the mystery of mercy.

3. At times we are called to gaze even more attentively on mercy so that we may become a more effective sign of the Father’s action in our lives.

4. I desire that the year to come will be steeped in mercy…so that we can go out…bringing the goodness and tenderness of God!
