Planning: To make the quilt shown, you will need 17 LIGHT BLOCKS that have a light fabric background, and 18 DARK BLOCKS that have a red, pink, burgundy, etc. background. Take some time to plan which fabrics will be paired together, referring to the quilt image as a guide.

Cutting: In the Fat Quarter cutting instructions, you will first be instructed to cut the patches for both ONE light and ONE dark block from each of fifteen assorted red/burgundy/pink/charcoal/tan fabrics. This yields a total of 30 blocks. However, a total of 35 blocks are needed, so you will need to determine which fabrics you would like to use to make the remaining 5 blocks.

Measurements include ¼” seam allowances. Border strips are exact length needed. You may want to make them longer to allow for piecing variations. It is recommended you measure your quilt to determine exact border measurements for your quilt.

WOF: width of fabric, cut perpendicular to selvedge LOF: length of fabric, cut parallel to selvedge
