▪ While on the OBGYN service a young patient with Cri-du-chat underwent a hysterectomy

▪ I was told by the fellow the indication was for birth control for as she had an intellectual disability she was at high risk for sexual assault

▪ This made me consider the differences between American and Thai health care and culture in a much deeper fashion than any other clinical experience

▪ Being able to celebrate Chinese New year was an amazing experience

▪ It was unlike any celebration I had been a part of before and opened my eyes a lot

▪ It was basically a massive market the length of china town; selling everything you could think of; and at one end they had an stage with singers, performers, DJ and MC!

▪ Another thing that took some getting familiar with was doing all my shopping at markets and haggling for just about everything
