Nicola Lomax- Clinic Director

(Liverpool, Cheshire and Merseyside)

Nicola qualified from the University of Salford in 2004 with a First Class BSc Honours Degree in Physiotherapy. She started her career as a Physiotherapist in the NHS and joined the team at Metro Physio Ergonomics Wirral in 2007 working in the Manchester clinics where she specialised in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of neuro-musculoskeletal injuries.

In 2010 she opened the first Merseyside clinic for Metro Physio which was based in Liverpool, followed by clinics on the Wirral and In Knowsley. She has been a partner within the company since September 2013 and is the Clinical Director for the Cheshire and Merseyside clinics.

Nicola has a sports background with a keen interest in Athletics as a qualified field events coach and athlete in the event of Javelin. She provides Physiotherapy treatment and rehabilitation for amateur and elite athletes, working especially closely with athletes at Ergonomics Wirral AC and Liverpool Harriers.

She has an in-depth knowledge of racquet-sports related injuries as she plays badminton and squash regularly. She worked with the female British Gymnasts in the lead up to the 2012 Olympics and also provides treatment for several elite amateur swimmers.

Nicola is a state registered Physiotherapist as a member of the Health Professions Council and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. She is also qualified to practice Acupuncture and is a member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists. She has undertaken an extensive amount of postgraduate training including a Diploma in Orthopaedic Medicine, Pilates, Manipulative Therapy, Kinesio Taping and Sports Massage.

She has also undertaken postgraduate training through the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Occupational Health and Ergonomics Wirral. She carries out on-site ergonomic assessments, health and safety training and manual handling training for companies in the Cheshire and Merseyside regions.
