NIC.br / CGI.br EVENTS
The Brazilian Network Information Center (NIC.br) and the Brazilian Internet Steering
Committee (CGI.br) promote annual events opened to the society, to stimulate the discussion
on various topics related to the Internet. The topics range from technical issues directly related
to the Internet Infrastructure in Brazil to social issues, and discussions regarding Internet use, its
impacts, consequences and challenges.
The main goal of NIC.br and CGI.br in promoting such events is to
enable Brazilians to actively debate the present-day and future
Internet, and also to provide easy access to the latest information on
technologies applied to and developed for the proper operation of the
Internet.
NIC.br and CGI.br finance these events with income from the registration
of .br domain names surplus, and welcome sponsorship deals to help
cover part of these expenses. In return, sponsors get greater visibility and
access to the select audience attracted by these events.
ABOUT NIC.br AND CGI.br The Brazilian Internet Steering Committee (CGI.br), responsible for
establishing a number of strategic guidelines for the use and
development of the Internet in Brazil, coordinates and integrates all
Internet service initiatives in the country, promoting technical quality,
innovation and the dissemination of its services. Based on principles of
multistakeholderism and transparency, the CGI.br represents a model of
democratic governance, praised internationally, in which all sectors of
society equally participate in decision-making. One of its formulations is
the 10 Principles for the Governance and Use of the Internet
(http://www.cgi.br/principios). Learn further details at (http://www.cgi.br/).
The Brazilian Network Information Center (NIC.br) (http://www.nic.br/)
is a nonprofit civil society organization that implements the decisions and
projects of the Brazilian Internet Steering Committee. The ongoing tasks
performed by NIC.br include to coordinate the domain name registry,
Registro.br (http://www.registro.br/); to study, respond to and handle
security incidents in Brazil -- CERT.br (http://www.cert.br/); to study and
conduct research on networks technology and operations -- Ceptro.br
(http://www.ceptro.br/); to install and operate Internet Exchange points,
providing the necessary infrastructure for the direct interconnection of
Autonomous Systems (AS) to the networks that compose Internet - IX.br
(http://www.ix.br); to set benchmarks on information and communication
technology – Cetic.br (http://www.cetic.br/), foster and enhance the
evolution of the Web in Brazil — Ceweb.br (http://www.ceweb.br/) and to

WHY BECOME A SPONSOR? This is a unique opportunity to communicate with a selected audience
focused on topics related to the Brazilian Internet.
By sponsoring the event, your company or institution adds value to
its brand: the value of being associated with an initiative whose organizer
is the body in charge of implementing projects of the CGI.br, which, in
turn, coordinates and integrates all Internet services in Brazil.
In this sense, you will associate your brand with an institution directly
responsible for proposing norms, procedures, studies and technical
standards, as well as leading and coordinating various Internet-related
matters directly related to the theme of the event.
In addition, by becoming a sponsor, your company will also show a strong commitment on facing and responding to issues related to the themes presented at the events.

In the second half of the year, the joint meeting is included in the Brazilian Internet Infrastructure Week, together with other events.
